Doll clothing we really really would like to see

Now that I have an Obitsu, I would be interested in a girl version of the Dress Up Book. She's really the dress-up sort.

So, thinking about the girls the only kind I don't have is a Cy Girl type :/ Does she compare to the Sideshow? There in lies the problem of not having access to a certain doll to make measurements from.

All the CY bodies are curvier than Sideshow girls. The 1.0 body has generous breasts and hips, and the 2.0 does as well but with better posability. There are a smaller and larger chested version of this body as well.

The CY 'Perfect Body' (the ones Emory carried) are a little less feminine of build than the regular body, but Sideshow is more athletic and angular than any of them.

Maybe a book for Obitsus might do as half the girl dolls I have are discontinued any way (Volks). Got to remember I can't be all things to all dolls, got to go back to the beginning and remember what I was looking for when I started out.

We don't see a lot of Boho stuff. Things like peasant blouses and bell bottoms and long loose skirts.

I'd love to see 20's style, "flapper" era clothes, that would fit 1/4 and 1/3 scale dolls. Also other period clothing that doesn't cost a fortune, though I know the work involved is the reason for the price.

Like this? I used to wear it when I worked on The Wonder Years. The garage has yet to show if any other pieces are out there as a mysterious fairy has managed to write so many names and years on them no one knows what's what. But there are vintage people patterns out there.


The only time I did anything with lacing was when I cut down one of my sister's shirts for Jareth, even at 70cm what was collar lacing on her took up the entire front of his shirt.

I meant Boho clothing for dolls. I know there are people patterns out there but not for dolls.

I know you meant for dolls, is that top along the style lines? I'm working to understand it in my mind. Designing something like that for dolls isn't too hard, except for the lacing with some of the sizes.

Yeah kind of like that but maybe with looser bell or puffy sleeves. Especially loose shirts and skirts since those can end up fitting a lot of different body shapes that are within the same scale. Like clothes that will look good on both Monster High and Barbie shaped girls.

I see. And it gets back in to why I kind of gave up with trying to keep up with the Joneses with trying to fit different dolls and put the drafting book out first. Right now I'm still working on doing the masters all the others are done from, measuring, drawing, repeat a good 100 times I see my future in more "Just For Us" books concentrating on just one brand at a time and an expanded drafting and altering book.
