It's true, you can't please everyone.
I know how to measure and draft patterns by hand, but I don't like doing it, so I'll pay for a pattern that saves me from that.
I'll usually pay a larger price for a pattern that fits the doll I'm interested in perfectly (because I can alter it to be other patterns from a good fitting base), or is a style that I can't imagine what the pattern pieces should look like ( because I can alter it to fit the doll I want it for). Bonus points if the pattern hits both those points. So styles that other people don't pattern for and dolls that other people don't pattern for are my buttons.
On top of all that, I'm trying to learn how to sew and pattern for 1/4 and 1/6 scale dolls and their tiny size intimidates me. I've been sporadic buying for the 1/6's since I've yet to sew anything for them but a tube dress. I hope to gather my courage on that sometime soon. I have so many other things I can distract myself with
