Confused about Bobobies.

Postby AlmySidaKay » Wed Feb 02, 2011 8:50 pm

I can't figure out what the difference between Ophelia and Rachael is, this would be my first 60cm purchase and first large doll purchase as well. I'm a bit in the dark.

Rachael

Ophelia

They have the same measurements, is it just their faces? They don't have the greatest photos on the Bobobie website either so I'm boggled. Thanks in advance if you can help me.

With rare exceptions, all dolls from a particular company of the same size and sex have the same body. IE all all 60 cm male dolls from Bobobie have the same 60 cm Bobobie body, all 60 cm female dolls from Bobobie have the same 60 cm Bobobie body, all 60 cm male dolls from Dollzone have the same 60 cm Dollzone body, etc.

So the only difference between dolls from any particular company are the head sculpts.

There are rare exceptions. Some companies offer a "big bust" option or a "double jointed" option. Bobobie is not one of those companies. Bobobie does however offer a couple of bodies with hooves instead of lower legs.

Ahh so it is just one face vs. the other at this point, thankfully I checked and neither girl has hooves. Thanks much for the info. :D (not that hooves are bad, just want actual feet for my first 60cm)

Doesn't help that the website pictures have hair in their faces, lol! If you go on DoA you can search the database and find pictures of both dolls. I've never seen an Ophelia in person but I have a friend who has a Rachel and she's really cute.

Echoing above - it's just the faces that are going to be different and yea, Bobobie has some of the WORST stock photos of their dolls. You'd think by now they would have figured that out and posted some better ones, but we live in hope :)

LOL - yeah, even Emory has mentioned the need for better stock photos to Dennis. I'm going with Dennis being so busy (I understand he does just about everything at BBB) that he hasn't had time.

Will just require me to hunt for months for better photos, and hem and haw more, making it seem like the amount of time I need to save up for it is really just me trying to decide. :p

I have an Elena. She's a bit more melancholy than either Rachel or Ophelia.

Also, you can do a search on Flickr to get photos of the dolls. That especially helpful to see the dolls with non-default face-ups.
