Mr. Man....head (x-posted)

Postby landwhale » Wed Mar 16, 2011 11:55 pm

Hey, so this is my first man head....Haven't introduced him to the girls yet since I'm still going to work on his hair. BTW his lips photograph a lot darker than they are in real life. This happens with my girls too. I'm not sure why that is..maybe the camera likes to pick up contrast...but sometimes it really does bug me because it will obscure and shading detail I do on lips.

Oh as a disclaimer, I did want a manlier man, but this was the only rooted head male head that Obitsu makes so I decided to go for the dark haired lush lashed look to play up the model-ly man look. I've been a sucker for the dark lush lash light eyes combo since I was a kid. In the future I want to paint another one of the sculpt for a stubbly manly look....I was too scared to do it on this one hahaha.

I'll update for his hair later.

P.S.: His face is screwey...I mean the sculpt. The F02 has lopsided lips though that is easily worked around, this guy also has lopsided lips as well as a noticeable chin misalignment...though that might just be this head...but I can sort of see it in the product photos as well. His lopsidedness is a bit more pronounced...but we'll see if I can't get used to it and work around it in the future as well.

After staring at him for a while....I'm not sure if I like how girly he looks......i put him next to my girls and he looks fine cept his eyes are a lot more defined than the girls who I normally do very natural eyes for. I think it's cause his dark lush lashiness is taking over.....though i do plan a similar girl with super lush lashes.

He looks nice. the harder side of non-anime bishieness. My dolly gals like his third pic it makes him looks like somewhat of a bad boy

He looks great. Is one of his eyes seems slight different from the other? Maybe it's just the camera angle.

Indeed his right eye is a little lower and the eye shape is a little different. I knew this when painting and chose not to fix it reasoning that nobody is perfectly symmetrical and it didn't really affect his attractiveness factor... His eyebrow slant is also a bit different and his mouth skews a bit to the left since the sculpt skews to the left. You can see it in this pic.

Image

Ultimately, the difference is so minute in real life that it didn't really matter to me.
(Note: the face is pointing a bit to the left in the blank pic so the skew of his chin is visually reduced. If it were facing forward more the skew would be more noticeable as in the painted photo.)
Oh...ahah..and yeah his head is rooted in funny for this head too....but his hair style will cover that so it's ok.

I need to paint another guy...This guy is one of those guys who in real life is prettier than most girls and just make girls simultaneously lusty and jealous ahhaha...I can't tell if I like him yet.

I like him, and I'm certain my girls would like him. He'd probably end up being the Mir of the 1/6 size.
I am considering getting this guy myself.

That is a REALLY hard sculpt to face-up attractively, and you've done a fantastic job! He's quite stunning. :3 Kudos!

I think you did a great job and I would consider the symmetry issue pretty minor at most. Honestly, I didn't really notice it and that's something I usually zero in on because I have such a problem with it myself.

Is he too girly? I dunno but I might have to ask Daphne (one of my Obitsu girls) since she can spot a "bishi" at 100 yards!
