I made jokes about that. Since my friend picks up my packages for me, I joke with him that the latest batches may contain traces of sterilizing radiation.

So if I some how feel crazy enough for another girl I'm probably gonna just order from Volks USA via their raffle (if any new characters spark my interest...) or slowly work on a custom girl... I might order that head and eyes I wanted next time they have it in stock.. Volks store is about an hour drive from where I live, but with gas prices, I wonder if it's just cheaper to order online.

I have only ever ordered dolls on line. It's hard to imagine what shopping for them in an actual store must be like.

Hmmmm, an actual store devoted to nothing but the dolliehs that we love to play with.....

I think I might actually blow a nosebleed and faint just inside the doorway

You just HAVE to visit Tenshi no Sumika in LA. It's great. It is worth it to go and pick your dollieh up yourself, and get a little pampering along with your new vinyl friend. Besides, the more people come and represent for Dollfie Dream fandom, the more Volks will realize there's a lot of us here in the States and that we need to be considered when planning new releases.

From what I've heard, the people who work there believe the dolls are alive.

Guh crisis:
I usually ship packages to my friend's house for certain reasons... and now his Aunt is unhappy about it, and dropped off my recent junk with an angry letter saying not to do this again or else she'll return to sender them...
>_<
So I immediately e-mailed noppin and contacted them via message board to send it elsewhere. I hope Mai doesn't get deported before she reaches my house.... Ugh also gonna suck if I got that sorry we missed you BS note on the door.

Yeah that's pretty much the way I felt everytime I walked into a different doll or toy/figure shop when we were in Japan. I imagine I made this face a lot -- @__O.

I don't honestly believe the people working there do, but many people in this hobby do tend to get.. pretty into it?
However, I think everyone needs to see the chart if they haven't yet: http://site.volksusa.com/html/hello_sd/whatSD.html

Actually, I had 3 of my packages "disappear," so I stopped sending mail to my apartment complex. I got 2 back, but one was lost after they started keeping my packages (without telling me!!). This was extremely frustrating when I had a doll body shipped to me and it didn't show up at my door. -_-;

I just moved from Pasadena last year, I didn't go down to the store that often, but if you haven't gone yet you should at least go once at some point. There's also Mitsuwa not too far from there, the awesome books stores and Marukai. :3 I've bought everything from the store directly, but I usually don't need much so it's hard to rationale the shipping (however since I'm Missouri I can't do that now XD).

wow 0_0'
Yeah I guess I'll go visit them one day. My sister works near there, so maybe when I visit her, one day I can go visit the store with Mai with me. So if I do have Mai tag along with me are they gonna automatically assume she's my "daughter"? I never understood the whole "daughter" thing some people have with their dolls...

Just wish they restocked some of the parts and stuff I wanted sooner...

Well looks like she's ready to ship to my address.
I'm hoping she arrives by Wednesday since I'll be home all day. The only problem is... I don't have a change of clothes/wig ready.... Q_Q

Leaving her bald and naked when not being played with doesn't sound very fun...
