The "Den, you are INSANE for attempting this" project

Postby DinobotDen » Fri Mar 26, 2010 9:42 pm

I've decided to try my hand at sculpting a ball-jointed doll.... only in my warped mind, I somehow got the idea to do an incredably tiny one that will need to be strung with upholstery thread.

So far, all i've got is a very rough sketch. I'll post pics of my progress here.

All I can say from sculpting my own tiny is, there is a very good reason those tinies are over $100 bucks.

So far, it's still in the sketching out stage as I work out scale and proportion issues... and it doesn't help that somehow, I've misplaced my initial sketches. >.<

this is the site that was found through other sites that I roam beside dolly sites. like instruct able and make-zine....
you have to go back in his or her blog to find the beginning plus there is a translation link that translates everything from japanese if you don't read it as well as you should like me and how to's this person did and what they did with the dolls that he/ she made... check it out...

this is about a 1/6 scale doll. the person is really detailed in how it is done.

they have a workshop section to show how they make theres with good Ideas

I am a follower of both of these to make my doll. I have to retake pictures because I lost them and repair a few spots that have damage do to the psycho kitty in my house

Any progress? Michaels sells Premiere and LaDoll clay, much stronger and smoother than other air dries and worth their price.
