I was wondering how you did it; I saw that tut a while back and wanted to try it out because the end result was very nice but I couldn't think about how to fix the top.

The only thing I could figure would be make some sewn wefts and hand sew them in. Like you do when you sew a rag dolls hair. ?sort of.

Yea I'm going to try that or just put in a ton more plugs at the top and see if that helps any, if not i'll just make some wefts and sew them in. Also I went to the thrift store looking for some yarn, no such luck  So I'll be making another blue, yellow, and white one. If it turns out pretty good I'll prolly sell it if someone would be interested. ;)

Ok so I did a short tutoiral on how to straighten a wig since there are tons of tutorials for how to make a yarn wig. I'll link it here once I get it posted. :)

nice work, i love the color layers!

if you're looking for affordable yarn hit up Big Lots or Odd Lots, they tend to have a dozen styles and they're only $1-2 a skein. Granted, if you find something you like you better pick it up at the time or they won't have it next time you're there, lol. If you don't mind ordering online you can find beautiful yarn pretty cheap @ KnitPicks. :D

Oh neat I would never have checked Big Lots, I'll have to Monday when I get into town. :) Big lots is always a fun place to go shopping for doll stuff.
