Obitsu Wigs...?

Postby Studio 126 » Sat May 14, 2011 12:57 am

I am looking to buy two wigs to give two of my Joes a "Fabio" look. I want one in straight, two-tone sandy blond and the other in rusty red, with a slight wave. I want them both to come down to their waist, with no bangs. I know I need about a size 4, but I am not sure where to shop for such, nor how to attach them when I get them. They both have buzz cuts, with no sculpted hair to worry about.

Any suggestions...?

You can search Ebay for wig 3, wig 4, and wig 3-4 in the dolls section. Do quite a bit of looking and price comparisons before you buy though. In the past I've been able to get several Monique brand wigs in a lot, they'll be the same style but different colors.

Ofcourse there's the Junky Spot, Kemper dolls occasionally has small wigs, Volks USA may have some left but the shipping is a bit steep. Just plug Barbie wig or 3 wig or 4 wig in to a search engine and see what doll stores turn up.

Is there a way to turn 1:1 hair extensions into wigs?

If you put them on a small enough cap. You can make a stretchy fabric cap that matches the hair or the doll's scalp and sew wefts to that.

Would that cap need some kind of chin strap?

If the cap is made so it stretches just slightly to fit on the doll you should be okay. A well fitting wig shouldn't go anywhere unless you tug on it.
