The other day I was out looking for doll clothing and furniture in some local toy stores when I came across a few lone doll boxes standing in the corner of the shelf. The boxes where of Susy dolls! I guess no one will realy remember these, but they used to be way more popular in the 90s. I'm not realy sure if they still produce them? I used to a have a Susy doll myself but I lost her, so I bought one of the dolls for ridiculous 8 dollars. I got a pearl Susy which I found was released around 2007
Susys are made by a company named creation & distribution in Honk Kong.
The box was not secured with tape or anything and, altogether the doll was easy to take out.
As you can see her face is way nicer then it shows on the box. The face is a bit asian styled and a bit retro styled. The face paint is pretty so is the plastic the only thing that diapointed me was the quality of the hair I bought a curly haired doll the other dolls seemed to have a nicer hair quality. Her hair is one of those hard straw like messy doll hair types I tried cutting off the tangled curls a straighten the hair but it didn't really work so I'm planing to reroot her some day..
All together this Susy doll can pose much better then most of my recent dolls I bought. Like the Barbie basics, they are beautiful but not much for posing.. She can fit most Barbie or Steffi clothes and shoes thou they may be a bit tight at the chest.
I would recommend this doll. Especialy if you live in Europe try looking around some toy stores you may be lucky enough to find a Susy doll. They are waay too cheap for their quality and cutesy give them a try
One last picture of my Susy. You can see her cute hands there:
"Bye!"
