Amelia Box Opening (YuHao Luo Ji)

Postby AlmySidaKay » Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:20 am

Amelia's here, amidst some disappointments, I ordered her with a face up, and she came blank. And she was also missing the pillow, birth certificate, and pair of eyes she was supposed to come with. I still did a box opening for her, because every doll deserves one. I'm very upset about the no face thing. I hate doing face ups I'm no good at it and now I have to find someone who will do her face, or just sell the head. I saw that Obitsu heads match almost completely, I may just buy a Gretel head for her instead. The interchangeable ears also were not magnetized on the female and are being held in with putty. Overall, the body is perfect, the head, terrible.

I will admit she looks awful cute sitting in her chair. She poses great but she's strung so tight I can't actually get her head on her body, so it's actually just kind of resting on top of it at the moment. I think I'll be able to fix it when I have another person to help me with that part.

Well, for my part I think it's a really cute head and you should just have someone do a faceup. Kiki-chan78 does a lot of faceups for people here and at Jspot and has a commission thread over at jspot that you can look at - and she has the advantage of being known and well trusted here :)

Do the ears have wells for magnets? Because they aren't expensive to get and are very easy to glue in. I suspect you are seeing exactly why MoC is no longer carrying the brand - although THEY should have made sure the eyes and pillow were with the doll before shipping. I recommend contacting them asap about those issues. I've only bought from them once, but I always got good communcation during that time :)

I finally got an email back, apparently they sent me the wrong head. Someone else had done basically the same thing I had done only without the face up.. and I got their doll. So now I have to figure out how to come up with the money to ship her back to them. (I kinda bought her with the last of a paycheck and don't get paid again till after the 7 days in which they said I had to ship her back to them). But they said they would refund me the shipping after wards.. >.<; I did ask if I could send just the head back in hopes to cut down my shipping costs, but haven't gotten that reply yet.

Also no there is just a square peg cut for the ears to go in, no spots for magnets. And they told me that once the dolls came in they discovered that they did not come with the pillow or birth certificate. I do still get the pair of eyes tho. >.<

Do you have to send her back to MoC or all the way the China? Seriously, you should not pay A CENT to make this right. This is the responsibility of the seller. If you got her from Mint on Card, then she should pay shipping for you to send the head back, AND offer to do the face-up for free. Did you pay extra for a face-up? If that was the case, I would be very pissed off if they do not cover both the shipping AND the face-up.
I would contact Lindsey - she is generally very good about customer service. You did not get the doll you ordered and you should not have to come up with money out of pocket to correct their mistake.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I hope they'll let you send just the head. That be a lot cheaper. Even though they're going to pay you back afterwards, if money is tight, money is tight. :/

I don't think I've heard of the ears going into holes before. Is that normal?

Oh Almy san!!! That's awful!! I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this trouble!

I wonder what's up at MoC! In my order, they forgot to pack the 70cm shoes I bought! They're shipping them now to me, but now with your order being messed up, too, it seems they've got some packing issues!!! ^^;;

Hopefully, the buyer who has your faceupped head will ship her back to MoC soon, so you can get Amelia-chan all together as quickly as possible.

Good luck!

Aww Almy I feel so bad for you :(. I hope you'll get it sorted out soon. I'm with cirquemom on this one. I hope they come up with a better solution financially, hopefully you can ship just the head.

hahaha, I was once in the opposite side of your shoes - I bought a DZ tan Yuu, blank (no faceup). Emory mistakenly sent me a FULLSET that had a faceup and full costume, etc... Fortunately I'm honest because I wrote him right away and said "Um...wrong doll!" In that case all I had to do was send him back the head and costume and he sent me the new head LOL. It was pretty funny. Mind you I would have loved to have kept the head, but that wouldn't have been very fair.

Will Almy have a problem though if the other buyer refuses to return the head..?
