Venturing into the unknown with MH dolls

Postby Kayota » Thu Jun 09, 2011 7:22 pm

So here's my first go at it, please ignore her left eye, I cut a chunk out of it and so I just messed with it a little to see what I could get. But I'm pleased with the right other than the lack of sanding. I'm not doing any more with this doll except experimenting because I used acetone free nail polish remover and it made her yellow, so.. yeah. >> She's gonna be my practice doll. Practice sanding, practice faceups, practice modding. Practice doll.

Her name is Derpula.

Cool! Will you be sculpting the left eye to be as small as the right eye again..?

Nah, this one is a screw-up so I'm not going to mess with her much. Like I said, I made her yellow by using the wrong faceup remover, so I'm just going to practice with her and not worry about making her look good. But I'll do the eyes right on my next one and post her. >> Think of this as a sort of prototype I guess.

cool! I like how yoiu're venturing out. I think MH dolls would look great with interchangeable eyes.

Yeah, I'm starting on my other Ula D now! Just to see, I put one of Theodore's old eyes in the first one even though they're too big:

Looks kind of bad without the sanding but, you know. It shows how it'll sit and stuff.

I'm so excited to see how your next MH mod project goes. :D The "prototype" work you've done on this girl is really interesting!

I can't help but wonder how she would look with a slightly bigger eye hole since right now that eye looks much smaller than her original eyes.

I'll take suggestions on my next one, but honestly they paint the eye bigger than the sculpted eye "bulge" and I tried to follow that when I was cutting that eye...

I love the way the whiteless eye looks in the socket, even without the sanding. I bet that animalistic look would be fantastic on a Clawd or Clawdeen. :)
