Ooh, I see! Thanks!
I just bought two pairs of 18mm eyes from Mimi Woo, I decided the 20mm would probably be too big to be pretty :)

Makoto has the original Gretel head with no eye pockets and is wearing 18mm purple SoulDoll bling eyes:

Mariko is a new sculpt Gretel and has eye pockets and has regular purple 16mm DZ eyes:

I like the no pockets better, but Highlander likes the pockets. It is all a matter of taste and what you are comfortable with. :)

Funny, the irises on the 16mm look bigger than those on the 18mm..! I guess it all depends on the type of eyes you get :)

Within a certain size eye, iris and pupil sizes will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Heck, Karl, I've seen the iris and pupil size vary within manufacturer from color to color.

BTW, you can avoid that "I've been goosed!" look by moving the eyes until the edge of the pupil just touches the upper eyelid.

does this mean there still making the old original heads in the hard plastic? because my new 50cm head is super soft and easy to pop her headcap on and off (almost fun its so easy) as well as shoving things in her eye pockets. although someone before me kind of dissected her eye pockets... :P
*Is currently addicted to large Obitsu's*
Want: Gretel, Sleeping Princess oe, Alice, and maybe the 55cm boy with the original head. XD

As far as I can tell it's the same material, although the larger 1/3 scale heads might be a bit thicker making them seem harder.
