We had some horrible storms in east TN! We lost out power for about or over 15hours, the majority of our food had to be tossed. We saved some in the cooler with ice...but ugh...it really sucks. There is a huge branch down in the backyard; part of it fell on the roof (luckily no damage). The only way to get it out of the yard is with a chainsaw, which we don't have. :(

People did cut down huge trees before there were chainsaws. Two axes and some patience.

They were also used to working outside in the heat, and just plain working outside. Besides that's men's work! LOL In the old day's us women's would be inside cooking, sewing, cleaning, taking care of childrens, and canning food and what not. Bwahahaha! I can't imagine little tiny 5'3, 120 lbs me swinging an axe. I'd loose an arm before I moved a tree. xD;
My mom told me I there was a handsaw she left in the laundry room I could use. LOL

There's a wonderful book called Women in Pants http://www.amazon.com/Women-Pants-Maide ... 447&sr=8-1 Homesteading gals had to chop and dig and plant and hunt along with their husbands. There were lady pirates, Amazons, and plenty of ass whoopers in history.

If it were me I'd inquire if anyone wanted free fire wood, all they'd have to do is cut it. Or I'd look up the local chainsaw artist who carves stumps.

Ha! They're me! I cut firewood better than my younger brother, and his six-foot-self can PICK UP tiny little (5'4") me! Maybe he's afraid of the ax? I'm picky about tools, though...hand tools all the way! I shun chainsaws...once you get the hang of it, cutting wood by hand is relaxing and satisfying.
(so is tanning hides, but we won't get into that...>.>)

Umm yea... I'll be in the kitchen, my BF does the outdoors-y stuff. Kthx.
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

They also used those duel handle saws (sorry, cannot remember official name for them) one person on each side, pulling and pushing :)

today I took a 40 picture photo shoot of my bobobie elfkin. Only one shot was useable and I have to do the whole thing in a different location if I want to try again. *sigh
