I wish there was way to cut off the people stealing my images, my dolls are popping up on all sorts of unsavory sites, mostly "ZMG! SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH UR COMPUTER DOWNLOAD OUR VIRUS BY CLICKING HERE" sites, I take a good guess from the address. And there appears to be a guy on the CHUD forum claiming my Phantom of the Paradise is his, how does he explain the girly dollhouse in the back of the pics?

Since anti right click isn't useful should my idea of having the site down for a week, it'll take that long to upload, water marking everything, and changing the image addresses I've ben using work? Is there a code that can take the place of the picture if someone hot links? I rarely do so it won't bother me much.

If people want to steal your pictures, they'll always find a way.
I personally don't understand people who claim other people's pictures as their own. Is it just me or is something really wrong with them..? Why on earth would you do something that useless and stupid..?

I know people will steal, thus a zillion water marks to come. The big thing is the link dump virus sites, of 500 inlinks to my site I'll say 20 are "useful" like other doll and hobby boards, the occasional blogger, and a couple of Wikis. I look at the list and have found some neat stuff on the real sites. The CHUD forum guy doesn't really bother me, I just don't want kids looking for info on the Monsters seeing a picture on Google and visiting what could be an adult or virus site. And I know there's nothing much that can be done right now.

There's got to be a way to have something like "image hosted by Tripod" show up if someone hot links a pic. I'd have it say something like "get your own dolls".

Yeah, I can see why that bothers you. Wouldn't know how to make such an image come up unfortunately... Do you still have the link to the CHUD guy posting your pic?

I think I'm reading that he's hinting it's his or it's just me. http://www.chud.com/community/forum/thr ... st_2594607 If the pics of a Phantom standing on a desk in front of a TV and dollhouse, and on a white background, don't show up it's because I changed them or the addresses in the intervening years. It's not worth trolling or complaining about but it's part of the drive to watermark everything because I want the hits to my site.

Yup, that's my Phantom. If the people just look at the source code for the image they'll see it's my site. Unless he owns all of them too. Not a battle I want to fight but it's open to anyone who's bored enough.

I'm trying to figure out the htaccess anti hotlink code but it's not working in the test folder. I uploaded a txt file directing to a don't steal pic in a picture folder, changed the extension to (dot)htaccess, but it's not working so far.

Thanks, that's what I tried but I don't think I did the file right. If I did Winslow up there would have been replaced with the doll cops.

**The doll cops fixed that image, but it's only funny if the topic is active. I am going to start uploading water marked ones. I am replacing a bulk of the Encyclopedia as I changed the motion tests and need new group shots.
