Despite forum representation I think there are more male dollieh owners than some might think. For instance, I am a female dollieh owner, yet for this upcoming Christmas both my fiance and my male roommate have requested special dolls. In a 2 female 2 male household, by the New Years everyone will own dolliehs. Everyone will enjoy their dolls and in the case of the fiance and female roomie they will probably end up with small collections of their own(I'm apparently a good little enabler). Yet I will probably be the only one in any forums. So, yeah. More female forumites but probably more male collectors than forum numbers suggest.

My husband just got his first ball-joint doll, a PukiPuki PongPong. But he also is making some, so he is definitely a doll owner! He refuses to get his own ID, he likes to read over my shoulder. I guess I am with you famedglory! :D Let's hear it for enabling!! Not all male doll owners want to be known. Some of the people on DOA are male but don't admit it.

My BF actually hates my dolls, the only time he likes it when he gets to do something like chop a head off.
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Oh, the wrong ways that statement could be taken!

When you look at the military/action-adventure/media property side of the hobby and it's almost totally opposite. I see more women in the vintage GI Joe part of the hobby but at sites like One Sixth Warriors, the membership is overwhelmingly male. Of course, a lot of those folks will claim that "1/6 scale historical action figures" aren't dolls and I've even seen some incredibly heated and long-winded diatribes defending that position but that's exactly what they are.
