!
I agree with Dolly Kim. You could try selling some of them here. Or at least we could help you value them. Antique China and composition dolls I'd have no idea about but someone else might have some knowledge. There are a lot of vinyl collectors on here that could help I know.

Well for the Tonner, Barbie, other fashion dolls (like the growing hair one) and I think maybe even the Blythes you could try Doll Divas http://members.boardhost.com/DollDivas/index.html which is where I unloaded a lot of Barbies.

I don't think there is any choice for the Franklin Mints, the porcelains and the antiques except ebay after you try here. I looked for alternatives for my porcelains and came up with nothing.

Things look 99% sure we're getting in to a house we looked at earlier. The only thing is we don't know if we'll be buying it or leasing for a year first with the option to buy, which ever will go faster for the owner. Gonna take another look inside but it was one of those on the make an offer list, if one was even put in, and everything is turn key.

Just knowing we have a no problem no cat p*ss smelling house is a good feeling. If we're buying I still have to pinch pennies, if we aren't I can get a few things I've been putting off as the moving deposit will be much less than the buying deposit. Should get the answer today.

Doll Divas looks promising, thank you VV! And I'm going to try to get gram to start making a list of which she will be keeping so I can start putting them up on a site (probably either Tumblr or Flickr). The only pictures I have of any part of the collection are these {1}{2} and a couple semi-closeups, and they're rather awful. Couldn't open the cabinets at the time because as you can kinda tell, it would result in an avalanche D: This is probably about a tenth of the collection, and is mostly the cheaper dolls with a few valuable ones tucked in. Most of the valuable ones are in her storage area upstairs since most are on the large side.

With HLJ pre order yesterday, incase they have an order stop, and you can always cancel before they ship. They're my plastic crack dealers.

Dang! I want the cabinet! :D

Have you considered any local antique shops? I know of one near me that accepts consignments, although their 40% fee is steep in my mind. Still, it might be worth looking into. Also, have you checked to see if there are any local doll collector groups? I know there's one here that has a sales convention twice a year.

I hope your grandmother is going to let you pick a few dolls as "commission" for helping find the others new homes! hehehe Oh, and if she's at all computer savvy, have her join the forum! You know we'd love her!

The doll equivalent of phone booth stuffing.

How many dolls can you fit in a ___ might make an interesting non contest. No unstringing or taking apart allowed and the lid must close or zip up.

The rest are fitting in the Princesses' shipper box, a dozen Cubicals, two hat boxes, a vintage doll trunk, a wheeled Barbie bucket, their shipper boxes...

Kirahfaye - I've been trying to get her to join, actually. She's just not really what one would consider computer savvy. And actually I do get to keep any of the dolls, since they were intended for me anyway (probably will be keeping one of the Blythes, though its worth about as much as a Volks limited).
...And if you think the cabinet is stuffed, you should see the 'doll room'... Literally cannot tell there is a bed or other furniture in it, it is so stuffed with old toys and dolls.

Well here are some names to look for in the porcelains. Jan MacLean, Mundia, Rustie, Pat Dezinski, Patricia Rose. I'll check some of my old doll magazines for more. Paradise Galleries dolls are generally not worth a lot. Franklin Mint depends on the doll (the King Arthur series and the Lord of the Rings series for instance are worth quite a bit. Also the Gibson Girl series. Some others, like Little Women, a couple series of historical American dolls, maybe $10 apiece).
