If nothing else, I think the head sculpt is a better match for Ivan's son than the Boyd is. /sappy sigh.

GAH! If I get it through Mint on Card the shipping is only $20.93 and with the sale the doll is only $244. So. $264.93 isn't so bad. Convincing the husband to let me pre-spend Christmas money will require all manner of wiles and pouting. The sale ends August something or other, so there's not THAT much time. Plus I'd already planned on getting a particular BBB/RS mash-up for Vargas. Poor Vargas. He keeps getting put off. I'll never have my naughty Naga if I keep this up.

Worst case, I just buy a head and see what happens. It's only $50 I think. :-)

Yes. Ever since Emory posted a contest to win a random doll head with funky fins, and the rules were to list the wackiest thing EVER you'd do with the head. I said I'd make a naga out of it. And Vargas the naughty naga has been in the works ever since then. I wanted to originally get a BBB Long cause he's already lean and spindly. I thought about putting a Dan head n' horns on it, but that's too small so I thought about the Gang body, but I really wanted a 70cm height doll. I'm not THAT particular about it though.

I have the snakeskin fabric (after months and months of searching.) After searching every fabric store known to man and coming up empty, I found a pair of tights. Ha! So, the snake tube will be two leggings legs stitched together and stuffed with plushy stuffin's. I've got to buy the stuff to make a spine, and the elastic. I think that tinker toy balls and short rods will actually work? Maybe? I'm going to mess around with it and see what happens.

If the Boyd isn't going to be Van, he can most certainly be Vargas. I just hate to cover up those amazing legs. GAH. He's the most gorgeous sculpt I've encountered yet.

Van could be this Doll Family A guy, or I could just say screw it, and buy a second Dragondoll Uncle. :-)

I think I saw armature for stuffed toys on the Parabox website. It's for making teddies and things stand and pose...maybe something like that could work?

It might. It has to be an eight foot long spine that won't easily break when I twist it into a little rattlesnake curl.

You need aluminum armature wire-it is sold in a coil so a coil wouldn't be a problem. It is used in art dolls all the time. Hobby Lobby usually has it in stock.
