Pondering about the more posable fashion dolls...and ponies!

Postby 1/6andtinylover » Fri Jul 15, 2011 1:44 am

Apparently the articulated fashion doll fever has bitten me and I'm considering getting a Moxie, Liv or MH. Partly for all the goodies they come with I could use for other dolls and partly because, OMG A LOCALLY AVAILABLE, ARTICULATED DOLLIEH?!

I keep on hearing about all these great deals like finding a Moxie Teenz for $3 and pony plus a doll for a dollar and stuff and hope that I get a good deal like that at local stores. I hope our city's Walmart and Target is feeling generous this month...(curses for not having ToysRUs locally!)

So yeah, let's ponder and talk about the really articulated fashion dolls like Moxie, Liv and MH...and of course ponies. But part of me does not know the purpose of this thread. OTL
The ever growing wishlist: Hujoo Dana, Obitsu 40, and an army of other Obitsus with anime style heads.
The more expensive end of my wishtlist: Limhwa Half Elf and Elfdoll Soah, my dream dolls.

Have you been here? http://dolfielittles.com/encyclopedia.html And that's a pull down menu in the upper left that says Little Encyclopedia. Livs are on the Spinmaster page and Moxies on the MGA.

In general I'd say Liv and 100 Poses Barbie first. Moxie Teenz are a really odd size, but nice. Monsters are a bit odd as well. Come holiday time the Power Team Elite soldiers and SWAT team show up. My next two purchases should be the two SiS dolls with little sisters that I don't have. I'm working on a skin one data base, among other things, for the next update, and always open to suggestions.

Lol Moxie Teen bodies suck so badly. I'm just going to say that. They suck. They feel fragile, stiff, almost incompatible with my other dolls and they can't even sit.

On the other hand, I have over 20 Liv bodies. Yeah, I love these bodies so hard. They're durable, posable and have a better range of skintones.

I was awesome, I found clothing for my Moxie Teen, and then decided I didn't want her anymore because I'm BJD's only... aaaannndd now I have a bunch of odd size clothing around.

Also, don't get the Moxie Teenz just for their wigs (I read somewhere else you were thinking about that), they're utter crap.

Liv bodies are awesome. Bratz jointed bodies definitely aren't. >_< Something I just learned.

I got my Liv dolls cheapest on Amazon, of all places. $10 for the outdoor ones that come with accessories and stuff, instead of $20. Otherwise, yard sales are good for older jointed Barbies.

Wal Mart will occasionally run web only prices on Liv and Monsters where if you buy 2 you can get them for $10 each.

I've been eyeballing the big BFC girls and they about $20 something. Wal-mart has free shipping to store on a lot of the outfits too. I love joints!
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

I can confirm Moxie Teen wigs, SUCK. If you don't like Liv heads you can always get one and swap some sort of head on it, I know Gift wants to do a Tangled/Liv Hybrid. (I'm kinda constantly rooting her on to do it. :P)
