I always thought the half rounds would be easier with the eye putty?

They're not, because they fit in the eye pockets so tightly that moving them around is a b****, if not impossible in some cases :P. It made me change the halfrounds to full rounds on my Obitsu/Parabox Joshua. I just couldn't get the halfrounds in place at all.

My Dollzone 70s, Obitsu 60, and one of the Dollzone Minis have half rounds. Never had any problems. I'll have the doll look at me then poke the back of the eye with a stick to get it in place.

hmm, I might try that trick next time I get half rounds....especially if they have eye pockets.

Mizuki's head has eye pockets. After dealing with Blade's eyes I appreciated Mizuki's head much more. Do you prefer eye pockets or just normal eye hole heads? Or the heads with no eye holes at all? I pretty much have all three types and I feel like it's a wash. I can practice with the eye putty, then i can get a break with the eye pocket head, and then i can practice painting eyes.

Eye pockets are the most horrible things I have ever come across in this hobby. I prefer regular eye hole heads with eye putty. D:

I actually find half-rounds easier to use than full-rounds because the full-rounds take up so much space in the doll's head that the S-hook/Obitsu neck tab would knock them out of place. I guess it helps that I also have small, double-jointed fingers.

I admit that I'm incredibly picky about which dolls I buy. Sometimes, it's even down to the details on the hands. I feel like the longer I stay in this hobby, the more pickier I get about everything. I guess it's less of me being a snob, than my perfectionism emerging, though, because that shows through in EVERYTHING I do. XD

Well I feel like when you buy a doll you should buy what you want, you know? Not settle for what you can get. Especially in this hobby because that's the point of buying BJDs, they're exactly what you've ALWAYS wanted in a doll.

I've said no to lots of dolls when I was looking at my first one for the strangest things, hands were weird, I didn't like the eye shape, the nose was too pointed.

But eventually I found what I wanted. It was worth the money.

haha nothing wrong with wanting it perfect! I find myself having to walk away sometimes from doing some kind of project otherwise I start finding all kinds of faults and just come to a conculsion that I should just wipe hours of work away.
But I have to ask, with the normal eyehole heads, is it easier to put in eyes on the larger scale dolls? I struggled with Blades eyes and he's 1/6 scale(27cm Obitsu). Maybe it's because his head is so small? ... my fingers are kinda big *blush*

That's pretty much the reason why I prefer to send my dolls off to Kiki for face-ups. My skill level just doesn't match what I have in mind. XD

Yeah, normal eyehole heads on the larger scale dolls are easier to put eyes in. I only have one Obitsu with eyeholes and even I had to struggle with getting the eyes in. I think I might've left the eyes as full-rounds, though. I'll have to check later.
