When do you most connect with your dolliehs?

The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

I feel almost a hate for a doll, if I put it up for sale. Like with Amelia, I was like "So long bitch." So... when I bond I really bond, when I don't.... I really don't. >.>
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Almy, what about Violet then?

I bond when I've finished a faceup, put some eyes in and put a wig on... so when their identity starts to become clear to me. After that I feel a lot of love when taking pictures of my dolls :)

Once I brought all the resin girls home she started falling out of her chair and not looking right when I dressed her and really kind of had this "I dislike these new people look to her", and she's literally been sitting at the bottom of a bag for the last month....

This picture reminds of Almy from our last doll meet. She was molesting a NippleHouse doll. "Resin boobs~!" XD

Resu wrote:After reading everyone's posts, I guess I'm a cold, heartless owner because I really don't connect with my dolls at all. I find myself more connected with the concept of their characters instead.

Even though I consider the dolls as simple visual representations of the characters, I still see the two as completely separate. By the time I even consider selling off a doll, I had already stopped seeing the doll as the character. That's pretty much the reason why I feel no remorse when I put up my dolls for sale.

No you're not. I don't really connect with my dolls on any kind of deeper level either. They are just aesthetically pleasing things I like to collect and sometimes use as a canvas so to speak. Sometimes they depict a character I invented and sometimes they depict the character they were originally made as but they aren't characters themselves, at least to me.

When I'm posing them, or making clothes for them :)
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

I agree with Resu and Wardah, its not really the doll's I'm connected to more like the characters that I'm playing out through my dolls. I mean I guess I have "clicked" so to speak with Bryn once after I'd redone her faceup the second after completely washing off her eyebrows but other than that its more like, I'm more bonded with Bryn as a character rather than the doll form of Bryn. Since without the character Bryn would just be another resinsoul Bei. If that makes anyway sense what so ever, it could just be me.
