I mean I guess I have "clicked" so to speak with Bryn once after I'd redone her faceup the second after completely washing off her eyebrows but other than that its more like, I'm more bonded with Bryn as a character rather than the doll form of Bryn. Since without the character Bryn would just be another resinsoul Bei. If that makes anyway sense what so ever, it could just be me.

It does actually. Haruka's based on how I'd want my OC for a story to look but also how I'd want my angel to look if Angelic Layer existed. Without her character she'd be just an Obitsu.

I can't really say I'm only bonded because of their characters...because they develope all by themselves. It's really special when they'll tell me what they like (or don't like, in the case of my boy...), because it's the learning about each other that really creates relationships (do I sound like a cheesy greeting card?). I like to take them to antique stores, because there's such a variety of things for them there that we can really thoroughly search for unique things, and see what works and what doesn't. Then I can be sure that when I'm out and they aren't with me, if I see something I know whether they'll like it or not. That means I can give presents! :D

I think the act of painting their faces really develops a connection between the doll and I. The face is a source of expression, emotion, personality. That's when they make the change from plastic, to doll. At least that's how I feel about it.

to me I just get dolls I find cute or pretty at start. Once they get there its almost instant hate or love. the ones that stick around I find have very strong personalities. A feeling of being alive? I tease that they have a very "muchness" ^_^ feeling. They usually are the ones my husband thinks are the creepiest. I find males pretty much never have that and seldom stick around so I hardly consider getting any. Its when a doll loses that muchness and they seem to go suddenly empty and lifeless. That's usually when I sell them.
