Not like it's what you want to hear, but after seeing Nipplehouse dolls in person they are just really big and bulky. I kinda fell in love with this other company.. Granado. I know Trethowan got one, I also got to see one in person, I don't normally like boy dolls, but this one... soo dreamy. http://doll-granado.com/index.php Sorry for the random derailment, but they kinda had the same face, and I just LOOOooove their bodies. >.<
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Well.. Like pretty much everyone else said, go for the one that calls to you. If this helps any, I heard that the Loongsoul dolls pose really well (looking at the pics, it's like they have an extra butt joint >.> or is that just their 60cms?)

...and you probably wouldn't wanna drag a 70cm around cons or anything, according to the owners of the big guys.
The ever growing wishlist: Hujoo Dana, Obitsu 40, and an army of other Obitsus with anime style heads.
The more expensive end of my wishtlist: Limhwa Half Elf and Elfdoll Soah, my dream dolls.

I'm wanting to bring a 70cm, 64cm and my little 35cm to a con this year. ^^; It'll be a hassle, but they're promotional tools, dammit! (The big ones are the main characters in a yaoi novel I'll be selling, and the little one is the protagonist of my comic I'll be selling the first issue of.) At least most of the time they'll just be chilling on a table with me. I'll probably make Trethowan watch them when I make my quick trips to the dealer's room. *evil grin*

I adore Akando. But I won't buy him because he is SO heavy (seriously his resin is very thick) that I'd never be able to take him anywhere.

Have you checked out Miro doll?

http://www.mirodoll.com/

Here's their boy body

$160 plus shipping and he's only 60 cm instead of 70 cm

I bought two, they are gorgeous and pose very well. Then you can get a head you like to plop on it.

I got one of each, and because I got two of the SDs I got free shipping too.

I need to install JM's head on one. I haven't had any time.

Other folks that got them say they are awesome. They used to be called the "Thunder Body."

@Trethowan: It is kind of a drawback that they're so big...but it always seems to me that the bigger guys are usually the nicest looking, too. I swear they do that on purpose... XD Thanks!

@solitary agent: That Morgan sculpt is sooo pretty...I was thinking about all the things I could do with his face up and everything, though seeing him in that wig in the company photos, I can't see him with any other kind of hair now. I absolutely loved that. And I don't mind hybrids at all (Evann is a Domuya Flexi body with an Elfdoll head, and I love the way she looks...to me, it just makes them really unique!) and now I am SO TEMPTED just to buy the Morgan head and see if I can get a cheaper 70cm body...I'd get smaller, but I don't know if it'd be proportionate. 'Cause that Mirodoll body victoriavictrix mentioned is starting to look really good at only 130 bucks... ^^; Ugh, this would be easier if I had more money. I would just buy both guys! XD

@AlmySidaKay: Oh, you know, I was just checking them out the other day! Their bodies are amazing...they're so muscular, but not ridiculous about it. They're seriously art. <3 And the price isn't too bad, either...still a little expensive but much, much easier to save for. Sorely tempted right now... XD

@1/6andtinylover: A 60cm guy would probably be a lot easier to move around and the more sensible choice since I don't have much space anyway. But I keep on leaning toward Akando, since he's the one I'd had my eye on for so long...even though I know he is way too big and way too expensive. I wonder if that near-un-attainability has anything to do with his charm for me... >>

@solitary agent: Aw, you know there's no such thing as a "quick" trip to the dealer's room... XD I keep thinking that investing in a cheap baby stroller might solve that problem of lugging around the 70cm guys... LOL

@victoriavictrix: Oh, MAN. I did not know about this company...the bodies are really awesome looking and so affordable! I wonder...do you think a head meant for a 70cm body would be proportionate on these? Because if I could make that work, this would really take care of a lot of issues for me. But even so, I might just get one or two of these bodies for other characters I was thinking of. Thank you!

If you really want the Akando, you should go for it. Most ppl who get what they wanted in the first place are happy and Akando is really popular so there must be a reason for it. If you really don't like him after you get him, you can always resell him or trade parts of him.
