If you go the Fairyland route, they come on magnetic faceplates, so you can have the sleeping face as the 'standard' to not freak out your fiance, and keep the open eyed face in the box for meets and photography. And I think all of their doll sizes (maybe not the Feeple/60cm dolls) have the faceplates, so that gives you six different size ranges at least, including the minifee and chicline teenage/adult sculpts.

My SO is creeped out by their eyes, too. He said I could get my Miriam on the condition that she doesn't sleep next to the bed. XD He's being very supportive, considering they give him the willies.

I definitely agree on "it's your doll, buy what you want." :) But if you REALLY want a closed eye sculpt, I'll add another to the list of cute sculpts.

I appreciate people being supportive of by freedom to choose my doll, but it was my idea to get a closed-eye doll. He's not demanding it or anything. He's very careful to not watch TV shows that scare me when I'm around, and tolerates some pretty dumb cartoons for my sake. I was actually proud of this idea to make my interests easier for him to become accustomed to. Don't worry, he's not forcing me or anything. :)

If I was in the situation, I would do the same thing and go with a closed eye doll. They look cute sleeping anyways. It's about having a mutual respect. I'm not sure the magnetic faces would go over well, I mean having a dolly you can rip their face off is all kinds of awkward. x.x;

On the subject of Dikadoll Rena, the Dikadol bodies are pretty nice, but they have fairly small feet. They're double jointed and currently my favorite in regards to posability however they have some trouble standing. They pose fairly well straight out of the box.

I really like the Parabox Sleeping Princess. Not sure how I'd work with a closed eye doll just yet. They also have a half sleeping head but I think it could make them look high.

Sorry for the late reply. The sleeping princess looks very cute! :) I'm still deciding if I want an anime-ish one or not, but I've found some that I really like now :)
