Boy bits didn't ever really bother me, one of those gendered baby dolls I mentioned was the Baby Joey doll, which is uh, very detailed. Moreso than 90% of the BJD males out there. The newer dolls with interchangeable/poseable pieces get a giggle outta me, but doesn't affect whether I'd buy one either way (Spirit Doll boys do intrigue me, but its because they're quite pretty). The only dolls that I've had any sort of interest in what their bits look like lately have been the Soom Idealian (a friend's fault, and it was more that he had sculpted hair than what it looked like) and the recent splurge of centaur boys, because I honestly wondered if they gave the horse parts full bits as well.

...It got in my head and I had to know.

Same here I didn't have a Baby Joey but I we did have anatomically correct baby dolls. Two boys and one girl. They were the only way my dad would let my brother play with baby dolls to get ready for a new baby in the house.

While I understand the concept , I don't normally undress other people like I do my dolls!
I do admit that I would never have gotten into the hobby if they were made in the totally non-descript way that Barbies are.

I never noticed, but you're right, neither my RS Mei nor my RS Ju have that little -erm - attribute, they're just gender neutral in the crotch area. Bits of either gender don't bother me, though. If dolls are meant to be realistic, then let them be realistic all the way. I recently saw a 70-ish cm boy with bits that moved, sort of like on a spring! When you remove his pants, up pops ... need I say more?

I think it may just have been an oversight because I'm pretty sure all the other girls have it (I'll have to check, and also on my Fei). It seems that I remember noticing that about my Mei and Fei (same body). It is a little weird when you are used to all of the dolls having that to suddenly have one that doesn't. And I actually like it that my dolls are gendered- especially the boy dolls, because people are always thinking they are girls and so I can "prove" that they aren't.

I third that. My friend's mother swore up and down, left and right, that her AoD Chi was a girl.... until she pulled down the pants and went "Believe me now?"

Though my own man got freaked out a bit when I was blushing my RS girl... For the record, the double jointed bodies have the detail.... But when I do a body blush, I blush the gender parts too. I think it looks more strange to have that one area without any color at all, when the rest of the body is detailed nicely... buuuut.... I blushed Vorel with shades of gold and pale yellow... and used a soft pink in the girlpart.... and accidentally got too much pastel down there. So.... it really stood out. -facepalm- I managed to undo the mistake, but he saw it before I did and had a momentary spaz.
