Nowadays you can use foamcore for a lot of the building, so it doesn't have to be as heavy as the solid wood ones. Kits and plans are both available on the Net, you just gotta Google 'em!

I heard of some peeps do that but I didn't build this. I saw some plans for sale on a site but they where just plans @_@.
