Recent Dollieh Projects?

Postby Jobee » Thu Sep 15, 2011 4:40 pm

I know a lot of us here handmake or modify our dollies or things for them, like clothes or furniture. So, what have you been working on recently?

I just made an outfit for a friend's doll, as a gift for doing a faceup for me. Deciding what kind of outfit I wanted to do was challenging. but then I stumbled upon some frilly undergarments in a store, and realized that I could make a very cute salsa dress out of it! Voila! Outfit done.

Well, I haven't started yet because I don't have the doll (yet!), but I'm going to turn a FL Pukisha into my cat-folk DnD character, Nissh.

Image

This will include body blushing and painting, a wig modification, clothes, and a tail. And maybe a tiny crossbow lol.

Fleacollar, that is going to be a really awesome project.

I've been spending my doll time on working on sets for photostories and clothes for my incoming boy. Tonight I started on a dread wig for my sister's new doll. Right now it's just a big pile of frayed yarn. So labor intensive, but they look so cool. XD

Haha, I'm working on [one of] my MSD boy[s], Seona. I have a project thread started, both here, and on DoA. if you want to look I'm also working on a dress for my MSD girl, Vorelvaeri, but I only have a crappy pic of the progress from two days ago. It has since had the front trimmed, and the closure on the front fixed. I'm embellishing it and then it will be done!

At the moment, my project is not a doll or dolls but my front bedroom, which I'm converting to a display and hobby work area. I've been very fortunate to be able to furnish it entirely with used or repurposed items, which means that when I buy my two work tables, I'll have invested a grand total of $80 in the furnishings, not counting the old desk chair I already have and some wall mounted wire shelving from a 6 year old "honey do" project that didn't work out.

I have been working on a clone army/goon squad for my characters Chancellor Stahl and Commissar Reichhart but I'm sort of stuck at the moment on how I want them to look.

That is my concept art currently. That is Rosey. She is going to be a Strawberry Shortcake head on an Obitsu 23cm body. I've got her shoes started on, and I've done her socks...but that is it currently. I bought the SSC a while back, I haven't gotten them in the mail yet. ;______; or even a notice saying that shes been shipped. I'm hoping that they've been shipped and are just taking a bit to get here.

Her shoes are really cool looking; I'll have to take pictures. They are modified MyScene shoes. I needed a big chunky shoe to offset the big head. :)

But she is going to have yarn hair, and a patchwork dress.

She is a Scarecrow girl.

Some of my projects include:

Pleats, making long sleeved shirts and...

Haruka is going under the knife for her first big modification made by me...I have heard the idea recenly on Junkyspot and finding something that fits her as a ring...It's got me curious as I might wanna do the same to Kaname. I'm going to take one of her stock hands and seperate the ring and middle finger. I heard Lania of the Dark did it to her dolls when I was lurking on the JS forums and I definietly want to try it. I finger I got nothing to lose as she has more hands.

I've been experimenting making shoes for Cherry, from bits of faux leather with stickyback foam for soles and heels. Seems to be working pretty well except the adhesion of the foam is unpredictable. I might try regular craft foam and waterproof craft glue, once I manage to get to the craft store again (which won't be anytime soon, I fear).
