I watched the movie "9" Image

the other night, I don't know if any of you nice people have seen it but its an animation like other movies i.e. shrek, toystory, and so on but this one is about these nine dolls that were made out of like burlap with kool looking eye lenses and little machanical insides that were to replace humanity. I think the movie was kinda kool, alot like steampunk though...has anyone else seen it...

We own the movie, bought it as soon as it was released on DVD, and honestly.... this movie made me feel very sad. I would try to explain why it did so, but I think there is not enough space or time to get that deep.

As for the partial soul carries, I thought they were well suited as to each part of the scientist's soul they portrayed ... * sad sigh *.... poor little guys.

It is a tremendously imaginative film, and the characters are wonderfully designed.... but yes, it is also sad.

I rented it from Netflix, but am thinking of buying it, just because the animation is so incredibly well done (and I always enjoy the behind-the-scenes stuff....)

I seem to remember someone wanting to customize some Obitsus to be some of the characters (the twins?), but don't remember who was talking about that....
This space for rent.....

Burlap, pipe cleaners, eyeballs, stuff from the junk drawer and you have the critters. For a better skeleton old stained Obitsu bodies could work.

Yep, the Missus and I rented it a while back and we both really liked it. I remember when the creator was shopping his short around a few years ago and had it posted on You Tube and other sites. It reminded me a bit of a couple cartoons Hanna Barbera (?) did in the late-30s or early-40s and again, during the 50s where little furry creatures (mice, squirrels or something like that) inherit the world after humanity destroys itself in a war. The premise of 9 was much less "pollyanna" than those old cartoons although it seemed vaguely similar.
