Possible Jem reissue!

My brother, who follows Hasbro news for the sake of Transformers, tells me that rumours are rife that the Jem toy line will be relaunched, after the splash at Comic Con. There is going to be a line announced tomorrow, and it might involve dolls.

I am trying not to hope too hard, because it might just be clothing like Hot Topic used to sell, and the DVDs. But oh, the hope of having Raya with her proper outfit and DRUMS! A Synergy with her head the same color as her body! And even better, googling shows that they have registered Minx as a trademark, so it gives the hope of Stingers dolls at last.

Don't worry, you're not alone XD
Even if I'm not a great fan of the animated series in itself, I always loved Jem's character 80th fashions, (I even tried to put together an only female rock band to dress like the Misfits XD) so the possibility to have an entire new line of Jem dolls sounds really awesome to my ears

I'd love to see what they could do with a re-imagined Jem, but I do have to wonder whether the new dolls would be in the style of the originals, or with modern clothing and hair?

I have the 1 and 2 combo but I'll be putting the whole thing on my wish list. I remember watching it back in the day but never got any of the dolls until after. They compare to Darci, not bad but not entirely compatible with others :/ In a way I hope Hasbro doesn't handle them, their girl dolls kind of suck.

Spinmaster (Liv) would be a great way to go with the wig switching etc. I kind of tell people that's the way to go if you want to make a custom set. The hardest wig to get is the green one for Pizazz but it's easy to find usable substitutes for the others.

Give Hasbro some credit. The Lorifinas were nice since I managed to see one in person once and their Strawberry Shortcake and LPS Blythe dolls are cute too. They haven't made a mass market fashion doll in decades so maybe they could do better now.

I hope so, the GI Joes have been a bit meh recently. The old gals are nice and all, I have a 30+ year old Darci, I just think Liv raised the bar on what can be done. Maybe it's me liking the idea of swapping wigs between Jem and Jerrica. I still have Jem paper dolls that were done quite nicely.


A bit rough around the edges, I've picked up a better "Jem" wig since then. If I was inclined I could do a Live set as Jem or it could be neat to see Monsters done up as them.
