My first attempt at a pony plushie

Ok, so stuffed animals aren't exactly dolls - most of us have them and some of us make them so why not?

My first attempt at a pony plushie

Postby Kd_Bunchanumbers » Fri Nov 04, 2011 10:42 am

So here is my very first plushie attempt at ponies. *shudders* It was so very difficult when everything I did was basically “LOL THIS LOOKS PONY SHAPED CUT CUT CUT” and so there’s a bunch of design flaws. Also my stupid sewing machine hates sewing more than two layers of fabric so I had to handsew the ears on and hair… And urgh. Also since I designed it wrong her flank only has enough room for one balloon. *le cry*

But yeah, I was inspired to make Surprise since I had leftover white fleece and really wished Surprise could have made it into the show. I really like her design style and colour wise and felt she didn’t get enough love in the community.

Plus I’m a huge fan of Ask Surprise. *cough*

Also not sure if I’ll ever make another plushie since this was a huge disaster…

Y'know, my boss always tells me I'm too hard on myself when I criticise something I've done for it's flaws. I think she needs to have that same talk to you! I think the plushie turned out really adorable and if you hadn't said anything I'd have no clue that there should be more than one balloon. I think you should dive right in and make another one!

I'll sympathize with you on the evils of hand sewing and picky machines, but I think she looks amazing. Especially taking into account the fact that you ad-libbed the whole design, you definitely deserve more credit for her than you're giving yourself. :)

WOW! EXCELLENT WORK, KD-san!!!! Honestly! We're actually in the middle of making a 'Pinkie Pie' plush and I hope she comes out even half as well as your Surprise! Surprise is sooooooooooooo beautifully adorable and really well done! I'd say your design is near perfect!!!!!!

Great work, once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you call this a disaster, I would like to see how your good work would be. O___O
That pony is really awesome! And so cute. :3 The design looks great, I see no flaws! I would love to get a plushie like that, even thought I'm not so much into ponies. u__u
Keep up with the plushie work, honestly! I'd love to see more stuff like this from you. :3

Absolutely adorable!! Especially the mane and tail. This is no disaster, I would call it a smashing success.
Bear with me while I think of something profound to put here...
