Whee!!!!!! We just finished 'making' 1/3 scale horses for our boys and had a grand time photographing them yesterday!!! It was such fun!!!!
We bought 8 large MSD sized horses and converted 5 of them to a fairly decent 1/3 scale size! Sure, they're really extra long-legged now, some to the point of ridiculous (especially one black one...ahem...that now belongs to a 65cm boy and so needed to be even longer than the rest!), but it's better to have long leggy horses than short stubby ones! Plus, they look really good in photographs with the long legs!
(These 1/4 horses come with legs that are really SO short! They honestly do NEED to be lengthened to look more realistic to real life horses. Probably not quite as long as we lengthened them, but....almost! ^.~ )
The other 2 we left as is at 1/4 and call them 'ponies' for the 'children' MSD dolls and the 1 foal remains a baby for the Yo-SD sized doll. ^^
I was happy to find they make 7 different breed models and was careful to get all the various styles in various colors to get a real mixture 'stable' for our boys (and girl). ^^
Here are some of the photos we took:
