C&R Crafts... elastic... and other resource questions

Postby Trethowan » Thu Nov 17, 2011 2:07 pm

Yay! At Resu and Zirc's suggestion, I'd bought some armature from these C & R Crafts. I was really, really pleased with the quality of the 1/2 inch armature. Vargas' new tail should have a lot more mobility once I'm finished. I just bought a bit more plus a few connector pieces for another plush project I hope to tackle over the holidays.

I didn't expect to find any supplies that suit our needs but they sell a few 18mm glass eyes, and they also sell different sized elastic and stringing tools. I was really pleased as I've had trouble in the past finding the right kind of elastic for the dolls. I have some now so I didn't buy any, but I might in the future.

Have any of you guys bought elastic from C&R Crafts, and if so, was it the right tension? It's meant for doll stringing but the Victorian dolls are built a bit different aren't they? Anyone else have experience with this? I wanted to buy some for the next time I needed to re-string someone (Ivan's due for a complete work-over) but I thought I'd check with you guys to see if the tension is tight enough.

I've bought buckles and fabric wig caps from C&R but I've never bought elastic from them. The have some cute accessories too.

I have only 1 problem with C&R crafts. They send back your invoice with your credit/debit card number fully listed. When my email got hacked, they got my number that easy from that email. So delete the emails after you receive your order or save it as a file.
