Wish List?

Postby magkelly » Fri Nov 18, 2011 10:44 pm

Checking 61 Repro Ken off my wish list made me think about what dolls were on there and it also got me to wondering what dolls are on yours and why? Actually I've managed to check a few of them off my list this year and it now needs revising. My list tends to be pretty reasonable. I don't tend to aim for dolls that are really non-affordable. Mostly it's Barbie stuff, though there are a few Tonners still on my list. You?

Barbie:

The Modern Circle Barbies. I want all of these particularly The Director Barbie and the Art Director Ken with the blue hair, but all of them. I think these are too cute. They've been on my list for a while but I've held off because they are not too cheap and buying all of them would cost me a fair bit.

Retro Midge RH and/or the Real Thing. One of these days I want to finally get my hands on a retro version of Barbie's BFF. I must have at least 20 of her later incarnations. I have multiples on one Palm Beach Midge, but no original RH Midge. I like Midge, particular 90's Midge, and 80's Midge but somehow the oldest Midge has just never come my way. Vintage Allan either. I really need to correct that but so far the repros have just been too expensive for words. I could buy the some ones for less, and I probably will.

FF Kurt, FF Ken and Beach Blaine. I actually have most of the FF dolls that I really liked and set out to get, but the two Kens are still on my list and so is getting me that Blaine. I like Blaine and have most of them, but I am still missing this one. Sutton sans big smile from the My Scene boys, he's also on my list. I've been wanting one of him, but so far all I've seen is the one who is and all my other boys have normal expressions and I kind of want to keep them all the same. I have all the other MS boys and I still want to have a complete set. I'm also still looking for MS Vespa Kenzie because she's the only Kenzie I don't own and she's the best doll they ever did of her. I don't collect as much MS stuff as I did but those two I'd still buy if I saw them at the thrifts or flea market or wherever.

There are a couple of Barbie Basics and accessories packs I wouldn't mind having if I can find them and not pay a small fortune for them. I really like the packs with the sweaters, the one Ken pack with the black shirt and particularly the metallics pack with the copper, silver and gold shoe and bag selections but I am not willing to pay $25 and up for them. The BB boys too, they're all on my list. I absolutely love them, but I haven't seen them for less than $20-25 yet and I don't want them quite that much that I am prepared to spend full price or even more on them. Sooner or later I'll see them at TJ Maxx or somewhere and I'll grab them I suppose.

Tonner: I really covet the regular and the Deluxe versions of Poison Ivy. Of all the Batman foes she's my favorite and I think Tonner's dolls of her are gorgeous. $100-200 dolls though? I'm probably going to be "just dreaming" for a while on those. At some point I do want a Joan Crawford because I like her work as an actress and Crawford's fashion sense. Crazy later makeup job aside Crawford really knew how to dress in her heyday and I'd love to make clothes for a doll of her. Also a Scarlett/Vivien Leigh, same reason and a Deanna Denton because I love her retro style and her curves. Also because my 18" Kitty Collier really needs a pal, a Miss America or something similar. I've had that doll since 2002 and I have yet to find her a friend. She's the only doll of her size I own and it's pathetic. She's so sweet and she deserves so much better than the treatment she's gotten around here! She doesn't even have shoes that properly fit her something I am going to be finally taking care off soon. I'm finally making her some heels now that I've got the hang of working with polymer.

Other and Misc :

I'd like to eventually pick up the lime green wig Liv made, the red striped black wig from the Liv Alexis Alice in Wonderland and the Hayden wig from the Twist and Dance series. I don't like the dolls much or the costumes really but I do like those wigs. Just not enough to pay full price for the dolls to get them. If I ever saw them discounted severely maybe, but I'm probably just going to buy the wigs off Ebay eventually instead. I am either going to make or buy a couple of 5-6 wigs in flame for my Tonner girls too. I've been mad for one for them ever since I saw one that shade on an Evangeline Ghastly. Or maybe it's the Poison Ivy thing, I don't know, but I want a couple at least in different styles. MT's I still want an Arizona and a Bijou to round out my set.

I can't think of much else. That's about it for now.

An Obitsu army, a few Monster High girls, and the rest of the Sailor Moon dolls that I haven't been able to get ahold of.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

I'm not a great fashion dolls fan and I don't have lot of space to display my collection, so my wish list is mainly composed by less or more customizable things to use as a cast for incoming RPG-themed photostories:

- An Hot Toys True Type TTM-19 to incarnate my gladiator/barbarian http://www.animetoys.it/web/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/134.jpg

- A Kaustik Plastik Realistik Muscle Body KP01A to be the villain in my story http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OFh1xlDx3vc/TmST66MqfyI/AAAAAAAArMk/dMYhd370Axw/s640/rbody1web.jpg (I'm little disappointed because stating that is made by a company that has Italian leaders and produces Roman Gladiator/soldiers themed action figures, I hoped to find some shops in Rome that sell this brand... but searching in internet I find nothing, I have to purchase him online -_-)

- An Hot Toys TTF-12 (the tanned one). http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_SHGMpYSnIVU/TT630x25IfI/AAAAAAAAAa8/mA7FWFaNFlk/s1600/HOT-TOYS-FEMME.jpg I don't like too much her pissed expression, but for making a villain (maybe a sorcerer queen) she would be perfect.

- A whole bunch of Fashionistas to rebody all my customized Barbies and similar. I feel in love with Winx's anime heads, but I hate their bodies. Their head are big for the little Obitsu bodies, so I want to try with fashionistas...

- This damnly sexy and damnly expensive triton boy from Soom, http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1312855731 and an adequate girlfriend for him, but he is sold out and so I'll probably never have him on my shelves.

Did you guys know we added a wishlist section to your profile? I'm constantly updating mine there.... mostly so I don't forget. So.. my wishlist is here: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=288
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

To be honest, I never use the wish list in my member profile and don't think about it that often. It's a handy place to keep a running tally of your wants but because it isn't visible without clicking your user name, nobody but you and your stalkers ever see it!

I think I'm pretty set at the moment in terms of what I need. However, my wish list still includes a number of items from Azone's Combat Gear series. Since that stuff exist only the magical realm of Unicorn Land, I'm not likely to obtain it any time soon.

On a lighter note, I recently managed to track down a couple things that had been on my wish list for a while, which is why there's not much for me to mention. One is here already and the other is on the way, so I might even be able to start a photo story I've been planning for a while once I've gotten everything together.

I had one doll on my wishlist and that was the 1991 Marina doll from the Anime Ningyo Hime Marina no Boken(Adventures of the Little Mermaid in the NA dub). I seriously doubt I'd ever own her as I believed I imagined her in my childhood and never seen her on ebay in the last 9 yrs or so. Incredibly I was able to get a hold of her and am extremely happy to own her and have reaffirmation that such doll did exist haha!

Other than that my remaining item on my wishlist is a new mermaid tail for one of my custom dolls lol.

Gasp! I didn't even know this existed, Dee Dee. Even his toes bend. Now I want him. On the wish list he goes.
I remember when my son was little and played with G.I. Joe dolls that could bend and move in all directions. I wondered why they didn't make dolls like that for girls. Now they do, but still action figures are out-distancing them in the movement department. Oh well. Some day they'll catch up (I hope).
