Someone...Is driving me to the brink of insanity. I'm buying her DOTD Clawdeen but if I find Toralei...Might as well give her what she really wants.

My issue? SHE KEEPS GUILT TRIPPING ME OVER GETTING HER A 30 DOLLAR BOOK!


Anyways....What do you guys do when your picky shoppee's won't stop asking for stuff?

Don't let anyone guilt trip you. That just isn't right. You give what you want to give, the amount you want the spend and what will make you comfortable and happy. If she isn't happy with it...it is her lost. If she really wants the certain items...go buy them yourself. Sorry if I sound harsh, but giving gifts if meant to be a nice and fun gesture.

Well, I'm not Santa so I get people what I can find and afford. I'm big believer in getting people what they want BUT changing your mind constantly or badgering me for specific gifts that I can't afford is a good way to be off my Christmas list.

Issue is...I tell her every time: "You do realize it's that much right?" She just says: "Your getting it for me." Phrases it like a question and then badgers me to promise to attempt.

She drives me nuts about my doll hobby as she wont' shut up about her plans to get more Obitsu's okay I get it! I don't brag about mine I barly even mention them and she spends nearly an hour going on,....I love her like a sister but she's getting decked if she doesn't shut up about her list.

This is the reason why I usually don't go Christmas shopping, and why I tell others not to buy me anything. I don't like the guilt-trip crap. I buy stuff for people whenever I feel like it; I don't need an excuse to buy a gift, and I always feel guilty myself when people buy me things just because they feel obligated to do so. If you don't want to buy me anything, then friggin' don't! A day on a calender is not an automatic obligation to do so, and nor is it a reason to force me to buy you crap. >_>

Christmas isn't supposed to be about presents. It certainly isn't about demanding presents. It sounds like your friend needs a different book for Christmas. One with gold colored edging on the pages . . . .

Get her what you want to get her. Wrap it up extra nicely. Hand it to her with a hug and a big smile and a comment like "this comes from my heart".

Thanks...She's getting what I want to get her and only one of it. No expensive books or a new Obitsu one doll I know she's been oggling for months. If I can't find DOTD Clawdeen I'm gonna find a way to get her Toralei and she'll be happy with her I know it.

The minute someone started nagging me about a gift they would get a $5 gift certificate from MacDonalds. I'm serious. Heck if I could give them a $1 gift cert I would. WTF? Did Christmas suddenly turn into GimmeMas?
