Hello Doll Fellow Lovers!

Postby ChelseaWhiteArt » Tue Nov 29, 2011 8:25 pm

Hello everyone. My Name is Chelsea, Ive been into sculpting and various other media for as long as I can remember. I am 20 years of age and I love building things. Whether my project is to build a new tool shed or cherry wood jewelery box it is my passion to make it beautiful in every way that is within my power. And in the last few months I have discovered the world of ball jointed dolls and the fan fan fair associated with them. I looked at hundreds of gorgeous dolls from various companies and artists and the ones I loved the most were the ones that every day people built and customized themselves at home, so I set out to build one of my own. For a while I just didn't know who or what I wanted to make. After a long time planning and thinking on the subject I decided to build an original character that I made up seven years ago named Victor Hue Bulstritch. His full story is for another forum topic, but this character is very special to me. I created Victor when I was young and this was during a very hard part of my life. Victor is really in essence a compilation of everything that makes up my own personality and way of looking at world. Someday I hope to write a book about the tragic story I came up with for him about his life.... But for now, I'm making a Victor doll so that I have something to look at and dress up and reclaim my earliest moments of childhood when I played with dolls. My favorite was dressing them up. Poor victor will likely end up as my dress up victim. Ive already built most of him and all I really need to do is finish up a few parts like his torso and upper arms before I go about casting him in resin!

So does anyone here have any special home made dolls!?

Welcome to the forum. We like pictures :)

I think not many of us actually build dolls completely from scratch. Most of my kiddos are Obitsus in the 1/6th scale, but I've got a Volks girl a couple of Volks/Obitsu hybrids and a couple of Hujoo dolls.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@
