Impldoll Erica, Ziv & Aaron. New pics in fifth post

Yaaaaaaay! I finished modding and painting my Ziv girl and I'm so in love. I originally got an Erica and some outfits. Ziv and Aaron heads came as an event extra...but as it turns out I didn't fall in love with Erica. -___-

I really love Ziv as a girl though and maybe one day she will get her own Impl Model body. For now she borrowed my Ember's Impl Star sized body. I think she would look more appropriate younger and shorter though.





I love the collar that came with the default Abigail outfit. It suits Ziv super well I have to figure out a name for her....ah..it seems I'm obsessed with her right now.

And here is my cutie Ziv, I dunno about her name. Ziv as a name is growing on me. I have a better idea of who she is now. She's on an adult body for now but I originally wanted to see if she would work as an MSD. Her sculpt is very childlike but I don't want to mod her neckhole so I think she will be a tall lanky 14yo with her head in the clouds...literally and figuratively lol.

Erica is the first one, right? I love how she looks. And I think she looks perfect in that wig. She'd be great for a character I've been trying to dollitize. I might have to invest in an Erica... gotta sell the Chrom first though.

What is it you don't like about her? Because I'm not seeing it! Lol

Edit: Whoa! I just looked at the impldoll website, and I HATE how their Erica looks. Is her mouth really that far out? I hope not, because I thought I finally found the perfect sculpt.

yes it is. Impl seems to specialize in odd sculpts. You Should have seen Ziv's nose before I modded it. Impld has very defining features in their sculpts. Often the Philtrum is way too long and the nose is too short. This is the case in Erica although it' is more apparent from the side. All the same I think she is still a good sculpt. Just not for me. The oddness does lend her a bit of character but it is limiting in the poses that I can shoot her in.

Another feature of Imple sculpts that you have noticed is that their lips often look tacked on as an afterthought during the sculpting. This is also the case in another popular sculpt from them called Abigail. Ziv escaped all the weird philtrum/mouth oddness and had only the strange nose which was easily modded in my case.

Aaron is probably one of the more normal sculpts.

I tend to be very picky with sculpts and stare at the photos for a long time first. I noticed Erica looked a litlte odd but she was better than Abigail and I loooooved her eyes.

All in all I think Impl fills a niche for interesting BJD sculpts that don't appear elsewhere but I wish they would refine their work a little more.

I love the Erica head and would love to have her on the shorter body (is that the model body?). The only problem I have with the face is the philtrum- it is too pronounced. About three minutes with a sanding block, and she would be perfect. It would be a very easy mod to do. Other than that I think she is really lovely and I have been really tempted by her in the past.

I think she's super pretty actually and I was going to just sell Ziv and Aaron. That was the original plan lol. Obviously that plan got sidelined. I don't mind though because I haven't thought of a personality/character for Erica yet and Ziv is such a darling girl. I think I will make the Impl Ember I have her older sister and find a more appropriate body for Ziv. I considered perhaps a Doll Chateau body at some point when I can afford it but I would have to figure out what to do about the neck hole. The body type would be great for a gangling 14 yo. I would probably sand down the breasts a bit but I'm fine with the slightly too wide hips.
