My 70cm RS girl is, well, a girl, but I will tell you this: the "bad posing" of BBB/R dolls is not what it is cracked up to be. Individual dolls may post badly (the 50cm and 1/6 ranges) or not so great (the 1/4 BBB and original 1/4 girls with their irritating lack of ankle and wrist movement) but I certainly have Korean dolls that pose far worse than most of BBB/RS crew I've owned or played with. (My newest darling is a case in point!) My 70cm girl was back when the 70cm RS dolls were't double-jointed, and her posing is really not all that bad at all.

BBB/RS have moved into the "fashionable to bash" place DollZone used to occupy, which is a shame, because the sum total effect is a lot of newbies being made to feel bad that their beloved first doll is an RS Mei. I think a lot of the bashing is not fair critique - or not applied as evenly as critique of other companies. I own dolls from a lot of companies, and I love my BB/RS trio as much as any of the others.

At first my huge girl had difficulty because of the slickness of her resin and, I think, her height. Initially I hot glue sueded her (with a $5 hot glue gun) and that helped amazingly. Later I scraped off the glue, tightened (not replaced) her elastics a little, and popped some craft wire in her joints. Utterly incredibly difference. No problems with her posing now at all, for about $2. If they released another sculpt I loved in that size, I would so get another.

Even if you replace all the elastic, hot glue suede and add craft wire, it would cost you less than ten bucks all up - you'd never manage to spend as much money as a more expensive doll would cost. None of this would matter if he wasn't the sculpt your heart yearned for, but as he is - I'd say go for it, and don't worry overly much about spending a lot of money on fixing him!

Thank you so much1 :D That actually helped me a lot! I was really worried about the posing and fixing before, but I figure, it's a challenge! And it's a challenge I accept. :3 I feel bad, I don't want people to think that I'm talking Resinsoul or Bobobie down or anything- I was just listening to other peoples opinions instead of even attempting to make my own. But I have decided to go on my own RS/BBB adventure! <3 I actually decided to get a Resinsoul Ai head on the 60cm Bobobie Apollo body! I am so excited, I can't wait for him to come home! I can start fixing him up and bonding with him, and I have all the supplies I need already. :3

I'm glad it helped! Ai is a beautiful head and is on my own wishlist - I can't tell you much about the 60cm boy body, although I've seen one at a con and, while the owner was learning to restring him, he seemed fine to me. When I handled the girl 60cm one I was surprised by how nicely it handled, and how good it looked once clothed. (Not a beauty naked, admittedly.) I'm a little anxious in case the 60cm isn't as posable as the 70cm ones!

Oh, don't feel bad! it's a bit hard to make your own opinions without ever having touched something - that's a big problem in this hobby, especially for those of us too shy/geographically isolated to go to meets. I certainly didn't mean to make you feel you were talking down, I was just trying to reassure with some counter-testimony. There are definitely points I can agree with in criticizing specific BBB or RS dolls, but it always seems unfair that their dolls seem to be held up to comparison with the exceptional super-posers rather than the plethora of bjds out there with average or minimal posing , as if there was no in-between between A-line and rubbish poser, when other dolls aren't held to the same standards.

The resin is different - lighter, silkier/slicker and with a slight gloss - than other dolls I own. Some people don't like that, but I do, because it's very pretty and touchable and easy to handle. (I like the heavier, textured resins as well, and the medium in-betweens. All different and all lovely.) And the perfect sanding on BBB/RS dolls is a major plus. I've never received dolls with flaws (and certificates stating that resin flaws are not flaws, huh) as I have with other companies.

Ah, now I want another BB/RS doll...

I adore my RS Long. He is sort of stubborn about standing or sitting, but he's so cute I let it slide. Xb let me see if I can find some pictues...
