I liked a pair I found on Dollmore, but they were $3 with $22 shipping. Yikes! Perhaps if I ever make a big order from them or find a group order I'll try them.

I just ordered a round pair from CR. They aren't what I was originally looking for, but they might work, and they're at a price I'm willing to take a risk on!

Besides the truly awesome 2" wide eyeglasses that were made by ???? company a few years ago and sold on eBay, but are no longer there, that I ADORE since they're so realistic and realistically sized (are now seen here on SD and MSD heads):

She often has a really good sale price on jeans or shirts, too and if you buy them together to offset the s/h costs, it's not bad at all!!!


I prefer the first ones for true realism look and beauty, but they are FRAGILE. I own about 9 pairs, all different frames and about 1/2 of them have broken. Of course, our dolls wear them nonstop and Satoshi (the main glasses guy) abuses his glasses by wearing them OUTSIDE on his cap/hat, which stretches them out and eventually breaks them.....

But even after they've broken at the hinge (they're so delicate because they are SO realistically sized/scaled!!!) we've glued them together and they're fine and still work. (Just can't 'shut' them anymore.)

I think some do look nice on MSD as well as SD sizes. ^^

Quidam: I'm sorry, I was afraid of that. I was really hoping it'd be lower. :/ The clothes are worth it if you ever do a big order from them. I'm glad you found a pair you can work with though.

I have some metal framed ones I got from Dollmore but I don't remember how much I paid. I also had to clear coat them because sometimes the paint on the frames will rub off on the doll's face.

You could always give them a go yourself. The RawKIss style ones are pretty easy to make if you have access to a colour printer that can handle acetate and a free or otherwise picture programme, and they look amazingly real.

You use pictures of real glasses (you need to find straight-on pictures - as a base, and fill in the stem bits the way you want them - because you want the glass bit to be just pure acetate lenses, you just delete that part out. And you can resize them to fit your doll exactly. My sweetheart made some for a doll of mine whose head was an odd size (much smaller than standard SD, but not quite MSD) and they looked fantastic.

The hardest bit is finding straight-on pictures of glasses, as most shops photograph them at slight angles, but that's what Google images is for.

They are fragile, but you can print out a sheet of them at a time, they look good on, and in pictures they look phenomenally real. They make a good stopgap until you find and spend on your perfect ones, for sure.
