...and then the casting went into the black hole "on hold" project box of doom. (Which makes no sense because I don't really have polished prototype to cast yet.)
Well, I'll probably ask for casting related stuff for my birthday, which is in a couple of months....

Okay, soo...I wimped out and decided I'll get Luka (or any other doll for that matter...) on my birthday and get the casting stuff earlier. Now I can't decide if I should get a rubber to rubber release or a one that allows rubber to rubber, urethane to urethane and rubber to urethane release. I probably won't use anything other than rubber to rubber very often, plus the rubber to rubber only is cheaper, but I feel like the rubber to urethane thing would make my life easier... And I have to figure out if I can use pigments with Aqua resin. [/rant]

Alright you would have thought the dolliehs would have been busy with the 'celeb' they've been worrying over AKA Len and whilst he's entertained them...Riven is not happy with me.

I'm gonna buy his wig and eyes soon decided to say f*ck it and get him a dark brown glib wig it'll look black enough I'm sure. Plus I can get it at the same time and be able to ponytail it for his signature look.

I'm coming to the conclusion that the wings I've made are fine with what I've got to work with and I'm just being an insecure crafter thinking they'll never be up to snuff.

They'll get up to snuff when I can afford better materials. First get a steady customer base.

It's not like they're totally shoddy, it's just the use of obvious craft materials and not something more "high end", which is I guess real feathers and spray paint instead of insisting on the feathers already be the color I want. That'll forever keep me in the craft feather area.

I swear it's mostly the feathers... the frame work is fine, but the feathers are what make me feel like "oh god no one will love these" when in reality it's like "they work for now but as your customers grow (hopefully) you'll wanna up the quality."

I almost bought a Monster High Clawdeen today. But the doll floor (yes I said floor, over the holidays the entire third floor of this converted house is dolls) at the toy place near my work was closed. Oh well. Next time.

On another topic entirely, it's amazing what you don't notice until it's fixed. I had no idea that I had no depth perception left. No wonder I was always banging my shoulders off of doorways and hips off tables! Apparently I'm not a much of a klutz as I was leading myself to believe. I really couldn't judge how far I was away from things. o.O I think there might still be something slightly off about the focus with my new glasses (I think my right eye is the culprit), but man, it's like turning up the 3D on my 3DS only all around me. Very disorienting at first and I don't think my brain knew what to do with it.
