Pivotal Barbie Body?

Postby Kd_Bunchanumbers » Thu Jun 17, 2010 3:11 am

Flashdance Barbie is now stocking up in a local toy shop and her facepaint is amazing and I love her overall look. But I'm kinda shy about spending that kinda cash on an unknown body...

Pictures and reviews please? :)

Don't have but got to see at the store, she looked like a skinny version of the gymnast body. Kind of like comparing Black Label with their skinny hips to a regular body. Part of me is wondering how close she is to the 100 poses doll with the "ball joint" knees. These girls have wrists and high heel feet. Hinge on the left "ball joint" on the right.

As for the face I don't see how someone with your skills couldn't transform another head in to what you want. You can swap them with a bit of heat. Nude dolls are popping up on Ebay if that's all you want. Quality wise Mattel holds up so it's up to you if you feel her price is reasonable.

The pivotal body is essentially the same as the "fashionista 100 poses" body. I think the hands may be the one exception.
I agree, the Flashdance doll is gorgeous. How much is she going for over there in Oz?

That is great to know, I'll have to add that info to my site with the next update.

Barbies switch heads so easily. My Cybersix is a Top Model black label head on an earlier Fashionista body, one of my 100 poses has a Jakks Pacific head.

Mary Kathryn, do you know any links to owner pics? I am never the type to buy without someone else's validation xD

Dolly Kim, I heard the pivotal body is different to the Fashionista body due to having thinner thighs and a thinner torso, so it's why I'm specifically asking for any links to pics/comparisons and such with the Pivotal body and not the Fashionista D:

Ah wells, two more days until my bday and I can get my grubby hands on both these bodies x]

Haha yeep and it's NOT a pivotal body :|

Full body comparison

Image

Her torso is one part and she's smaller than my other dolls. Her feet are bigger (but they're the same size as Model Muse) so they don't fit my other shoes :|

Her arms are tiny as heck and I think she makes Momoko look like she has giant cafeteria lady arms.

Meh, I prefer the fashionista as it can sit with its legs closed whilst I end up swiveling Flashdance barbie's legs to make her sit more... lady like :|

Also it had no shoes. And a creepy stand that I couldn't wrestle her into. Also the box is ginormous so I recommend getting her loose.

But she is a comparable size to Teen Skipper.

I kinda wished I gotten a Fashionista and a Barbie Basic instead. Better posing and I would've gotten two outfits PLUS shoes <_<; And at a similar price too :|

Huh...well, she still might be useful for rebodying a teen, at least. Thanks so much for posting the comparison pics!

Fashionista bodies are the best Barbie body yet. Just awesome. The high-heel foot means they can wear more types of Barbie footwear than my old standby, the Gymnast (aka Hula Hair) Barbie. Have you tried to find shoes for a Gymnast? Really tough. I stack them up against Obitsu 27cm and it's damn close wrt what's better.

If only they'd do a PALE Fashionista, and a truly dark African-American Fashionista...le sigh...
