The whole idea of those sets wasn't really to give people multiple dolls in one kit for $20. It was to make one doll that has multiple potential characters or to get more than one kit and swap out. MH dolls cost $13 up to what $25 most of them? That would be rather foolish of them giving people 3 torsos and therefore 3 dolls for the price of one.

My issue is that I would gladly have paid more to get the extra pieces. Now I am scrabbling to try to sculpt new bodies, mod unwanted dolls and experiment with different body /torso/limb possibilities. As creative and appealing as that might sound, it's not what I want to be doing with my time right now.
None of my kvetching implies that I'm pro bootlegging, just that I'm frustrated with Mattel.

Well I would hope maybe that Mattel sees the demand for torsos and release more on their own. Official ones would probably be a better value since resin more expensive than normal plastic especially since the resin ones are probably solid while the official ones are probably hollow inside. If Mattel is offering cheaper torsos then most people will get those instead of the resin recasts and Mattel can avoid the expense and PR nightmare that comes with a legal battle.

Kittysaurus: are they the werewolf starter sets?? O.o and how much do you think it would cost to ship? Even if you had to take the pieces out of the box.

Yes! They usually have multiples of each, even the accessory packs. I don't think a lot of people really like them here. Or maybe they have just been put on the shelf hours before? (My husband works 3rd shift, so I'm up at odd hours...and usually at walmart! LOL) We have to go to the store tonight to get some more packaging tape, and I'll look then.

If I took all the pieces out of the box, I could fit it in a priority box. So probably $5.50ish? Or I could stick it in those medium priority boxes, monsters fit great in there. It seems like it's about the same price, but I can't remember. It's been so long since I sold a MH on ebay. xD

it would cost me 30 bucks to make a skeleton girl, getting a starter set and then the add-on pack. that's like two regular dolls so I can get one!

Using some very careful application q-tips, acetone and terror I finally had time to wipe Toralei's lips and repaint them and I am pleased with the result. It's red-orange and I think it suits her better than the original purple, and now her lipstick follows her actual lips! ...And then I had to touch up her toes again because I'd taken off her shoes to strip her first.

Thanks. She's a bit blown out in the pictures unfortunately, it's darker in person. I haven't quite managed to figure out how to fix it on this camera yet. I think this color compliments her personal color scheme better and the shape gives her a gentler look. ...and I keep looking at her and going, "Wow, I came home from work and did that." XD

Luck finding one, magkelly! When I got her, Target only had two of her, some CASes, and I think maybe a Cleo. Which is still far more than anywhere else I've been.
