Some of the unfinished wooden ones are from craft stores like Hobby Lobby, etc. or Jo Ann fabric. Some are from Barbie or Gloria furniture. (see eBay). I hope that helps you.

It does. thanks. ^_^ I have both Hobby Lobby and Joanne's here in town, along with Michael's (The joy of a city). And now I have some idea what to search for on ebay. Never heard of Gloria, will have to see what I uncover.

Gloria Furniture -- These are plastic furniture sets. Mostly pink plastic, but some of the sets (like the dining room and bar sets) come with really great dishes, silverware and glasses, etc. props. Assembly required. (And unless you like pink, repainting required... I put two coats of MSC on, then several coats of acrylic to create the brown 'bedstead' that's in some of my pics. Spray painting might work better.) Note: The sets themselves are cheap, but the shipping is exorbitant. But if you can get a deal (like buy three, get one free), it's probably worth it. And again, the props are great!

Ebay often has "Barbie Furniture" lots -- people who are cleaning out their attics and getting rid of kid stuff. Sometimes this stuff isn't in the best of shape. Sometimes you can find some incredibly wonderful hand-made pieces that are well worth the price. It's mostly a matter of keeping your eyes open. Also now that the weather is getting better, keep an eye out for yard sales (but get there early. You're competing with parents of little girls with Barbies!)

Recommended: Ebay seller http://stores.ebay.com/DOLL-CLOTHES-RACK?_rdc=1 -- sturdy, well-made stuff, the only drawback is the limitation of colors (basically little-girl pastels or little-boy cammo).

And if you have the budget for something slightly fancier: Victorian Doll Furniture -- these are incredibly beautiful. Not cheap. But really well-made. (Also the room-box instructions I used to make my set are from this site.)

I've also found some PINCUSHIONS at Joann fabrics that are shaped like armchairs -- and they're a perfect size for 1/6 dolls. If you like craft/sewing projects, Simplicity has patterns for "fashion doll" furniture that are pretty nice too, using mostly foamcore board and fabric, and a little stuffing.

And of course, there's always the Barbie/Bratz furniture playsets that you can find at any toy store -- keep your eye out for sales. Good luck!

my wood dresser is a jewelry box. the daybed is High school musical set. the saucer chairs are cell phone holders found at Claires/Topkapi in the mall. the furry chairs (black, silver/black, purple) and the loungy chairs that Talia and Tex are sitting in, I made those.

Doll Kitchen furnishings complete! Now, I just need more foam board for real walls.

I will add more rooms as I get the furnishings together.

I'm going to be in need of a house for my tiny peoples, do 1/12 scale count as tiny? I need a Star Trek themed "house" and a random one with a cloister room for the Doctors and a Daily Bugle for the Spider-Man gang, there's Sailor Moon and Dawn dolls to fit in there too so no lack of assistants. Trying to see if I can design a bit of something. Actually been thinking about the Star Trek thing for years but something always seems to stop it from get past the idea stage :/

But if there's any ready made or easily adapted Sci-Fiesque dwelling for 1/12 scale critters LMK.

I only have one "room" -- the furniture is kept in plastic bins or on shelves when not in use in a given scene. Props are in craft/accessory cases with compartments to keep the fragile things safe and the sets of things together. I never have enough storage space... so my apt. sometimes looks very cluttered with doll stuff all over...

The wall coverings are held in place against the foam-core board walls by map pins or straight pins, for easy removal or adjustment -- I have a number of fabric upholstery "sample" squares that make great wall hangings or carpets as needed. I also make use of scrapbook papers, which come in a HUGE variety of colors and textures. I've also splurged on thin veneer wood flooring pieces intended for doll-house construction. (Doll house construction materials are designed for 1/12 scale -- sometimes they can "pass" for 1/6 scale, sometimes not. But what makes for a French Door in a 1/12 scale doll house might work as a window setup for 1/6 scale.)

They won't go hungry, I'll just get crowded out by plastic food. I actually haven't put my dollhouse together or put any of the pieces in the display cabinets for nearly a year now, been kind of in a slump, kind of a love hate relationship with their stuff. The Reddi Whip came with the strawberry shortcake American Re Ment. I haven't bought any since the last candy store came out. Might have been something else but I can't remember.

I still want to redecorate their house in to something a bit more them, kind of have ideas and kind of not. Some day I will again.
