Box opening for 2: Unoa Lusis (hybrid) & Iplehouse JID Ryan

After all the bad luck I've been having (my Asleep Eidolon Blueberry got lost and the dealer is not communicating with me, plus my Only-Doll RuoDie was returned to Mint on Card because her box was severely damaged), two new dolls arrived just now, on the same day!!!

I first decided to open my package from Noppin Japan, containing an Unoa Lusis faceplate. I wanted to make a hybrid with the Lati Blue body I have, after I decided the Cara head on it wasn't the right head for me. I first tried to sell the full doll, until I realized I should do a search on possible hybrids. One option that came up was a Unoa hybrid, which I thought was so awesome that I immediately ordered a Lusis faceplate and a custom-made headback by Amaeta from France. The latter arrived last week, so I'm now all ready to make my hybrid!! Unfortunately natural daylight is almost gone (it's 5pm here) and I wanted to do 3 faceups today... I'll have to work on them on Friday.

There she is! Hey, what's in her eyes and mouth..?



Is it some kind of mold residue..? I don't know. Removing it is annoying, I haven't succeeded 100% yet. There's still some left. I used a needle and tweezers.



She fits!!!



The resin match isn't perfect, but I didn't expect it to be. I actually think it's pretty close. Perhaps some layers of MSC will do the trick when I'm doing the faceup, making the faceplate slightly darker without having to blush it... and if it doesn't do the trick, I'm not gonna make a fuss. I already love her now!

Okay, moving on to the next box. Feels like it's my birthday... No, this is better than the average birthday lol!!

I love his sexy body so much, I never knew an MSD boy could look this hot.





I'll be giving him a new pair of eyes and a new wig, but I left the eyes he came with in and I put the wig he came with on his head for now, just for the pictures

Unoa really are wonderful sculpts. One of these days I'll buy a girl, but not anytime soon.

No, seriously, I made an agreement with myself since I have a student loan to pay off... I will NOT buy any more dolls. I know for a fact that I can do this. Really! I'll wait for my RuoDie and Blueberry and that's it. No more. The only BJD-related thing I'll be saving up money for from now on, is a proper camera <3

Yey for new arrivals! Unoa hybrids are the absolute best! If I were allowed I'd have a slew of them. Can't wait to see them all done up.

I can't wait either, but I decided not to start on their faceups because natural daylight is almost gone and I might not notice while I'm working on them, causing screwups as soon as it's getting darker... I'll work on them on Friday <3

YAY evelien. The stuff in her eyes and mouth is called flash. It's just extra resin bits from being cast. Usually i use a very sharp craft blade (x-acto) to cut it off.

You are so lucky to have such amazing dolls. I am like you. I have too many all of a sudden and no time for them. The iplehouse looks great. He is your first boy right? You're going to be so spoiled lol.

Yep, he's my first boy and I'm pretty sure he'll remain the only one. It's funny though, I had no plans for him and the Unoa being lovers (possibly a one-way love interest but nothing more than that), but there seems to be something between them... isn't it funny how dolls sometimes decide for themselves..?

Thanks for the tip on the resin bits, someone on a Dutch board said I could try sanding it away, I'm sure I'll manage to get everything off. Stupid me, I never even considered the X-acto knife I have for this.

P.S.: Actually I do have time for them, they couldn't have come at a better moment . Next week is spring break here, so I'll have all week to work on them ^^
