Zuri - 1/3 scale digital head sculpt

Postby Morgan » Sun Mar 04, 2012 6:20 am

So, she's not exactly a doll yet... but she might be someday! To that end, your feedback and constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated. :)

She's beautiful! You should try making her on Shapeways! I'm in love with those lips and her nose. ^_^

Thanks! She's probably headed for Shapeways, but there's a couple projects in line ahead of her. Including the one in my sig, whose various parts are printing even as we speak... er, well, maybe not on a Sunday. But yeah, I'm basically fidgeting with other things while I'm waiting.

I can't really comment from a technical point of view but I think she looks lovely! ^^

She's beautiful and I really like her. The only criticism I can think of is the eyes. They're both nicely shaped but they don't look like they're shaped the same? Like right eye seems smaller and more teardrop shaped while the left is bigger and more almond.

I might be suffering from sleep-deprived hallucinations, though.

She's great, but I think there's something weird going on with her eyes, too. Maybe we could see a head-on shot? :hint hint: ;) But I looooove her nose. I dunno, there's just something about it. It's so cute!

Compliments *and* helpful critique? I've clearly found my new home. :) Thank you all!

The eyes are definitely 100% symmetrical -- that may be my favorite thing about sculpting digitally. Buuut I think I had perspective off when I took this shot, meaning the "bigger" eye is an optical illusion. It looks bigger because it *ought* to look smaller. Still, there's something 'off' about the eyeliids that isn't symmetry... I just need to see if I can fix it, whatever it is. And I'll take shots from more angles next time.

Thanks again for the critique & encouragement! :)

I think I may have figured out what's "off" about the eyes. I could be wrong, but it almost seems as though the inner corners of the eyes turn IN towards the inside of the head a bit too far. Almost as though the center of the face was pushed in?

*still loves those lips*
