The Villa's Kitchen

Postby lovelovekitty » Mon Mar 19, 2012 9:03 am

Of the triad of old buildings (The Manor, The Alhambra, and The Villa) the Villa is by far the smallest and less extravagant of the three. Since it's the smallest, it makes the most sense to do the complete house in diorama (especially for my first full project). I plan to do selected rooms of the other two at some point, but I really wanted a completed house so my gals and guys at least have some place to hang out.

This is the first room I started. It is seriously lacking in decorations because my printer is in the crap hole and I've gotten distracted by a bunch of sewing projects.

I built the kitchen island. The furniture is called "Modern Comfort" it's a really expensive set on ebay now (i saw one go for 300 bucks, sheesh!!). The cabinet is a cabinet from Michael's that I just painted white and sealed.

I wish I had that kind of furniture working skills! Glad you guys are liking it. I'm trying to decide if I should do the bathroom next.

Thanks everyone! My dolls will enjoy it a lot better once I get some museum putty and make it look a little more like a "lived-in" kitchen with decorations.
