I'm working on a couple of sock outfits as I type. I got some socks from Target the other day and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with them. I'm making a long sweater out of one sherbert striped sock, a skirt with a cute bunny out of another. Those are coming along. It's the one with the Go Green frogs on it that I am having a time with. I really want to keep all of that, the pink ribbing, the big frog face and the Go Green together on some kind of outfit but fitting them on a 12" or 16" girl isn't really working well and I just can't see putting it on a big boy doll. Too girly. I'm thinking my 18" BFC girl may be getting this one by default but making it fit her just might require extra sweater or fleece material of some sort. I guess I could make her a hot pink fleece sweater and use the sock part as a sew on applique thing. I just have to use it somehow though. It's too cute.
For me the hard part of using kids socks is trying to figure out how to sew around the heel part. Half the time when I'd like to use a kid's sock to make a sweater or shirt but the heel part always gets in my way. I like using knee socks better but then you're talking more money and the patterns are usually larger than I'd like besides.
I've gotten pretty intend upon finding small prints in strange places lately. The other day I was in Walmart and I'm looking through the cotton printed panties and wondering if I can get enough material to make leggings out of a pair. That's pretty bad when you're looking at cute underwear and you're wondering if your DOLLS will be wearing it.
