I love Angelsdoll. Their resin is so smooth and dense. I do wish they offered seam-sanding, but I think that's just me being spoiled by ResinSoul. (on a related note to seam sanding, Wal-Mart carries 800, 1000, and 2000 grit sandpaper in their automotive repair section... had I known that, i wouldn't have bought it via Volks >.>) But I agree that there's a certain amount of realism that goes into the Angelsdoll bodies that Iple and Soom don't really have. They're gorgeous, but almost too perfect.... of course that doesn't stop me from wanting an Akando.

Yeah, I agree. Jim is a FORMER quarterback. So he's not going to be in prime condition, but he's still bigger than a Sasquatch. I told my hubby about my dolly dreams so as soon as the Dollmore Spider Queen listed on DoA sells, I'm going to buy the Angelsdoll Kruz.

I also want to buy a friend's Crobidoll. He's uber cuteness. Dolls dolls dolls. So many dolls.

A gallery post: a post in the gallery section showing off your dolls, or any post that shows off pictures of your dolls.
Do you have a gallery?

Trethowan - Those pictures killed me. I showed them to my fiance and he said he wanted to show the world how fabulous they were.

Also, Lusions weird me out. They just look like children which isn't what I like about dolls. I think Dahlia has a beautiful face, I just wish it was on a smaller doll.

Lusions, are those the ones that look like the Victorian style little-girl dolls? Those things are a bit creepy.

The larger the doll is for me the more I must be able to cuddle with them, so for me, I'm strangely drawn to them. (And then I go to the dollmore site, look at the price and run away screaming for a bit).
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

I thought the Lusion girls were pretty creepy from the site pictures, but then I met a few in person. Their proportions are off just enough that they don't have the same small child vibe they have in the pics. It's like they designed a very pretty eight year old at the size of a two year old. So there's still a creepy vibe but I think it stays in the "not going to keep me up at night" zone. I mean, I personally don't want one, but I can totally see the appeal.

I'd thought it would be fun to have one of those big 1/2 suckers that AoD makes. I think I posted this once before so I might be repeating myself, but it would be a fun character, like some badass giant demon with lots of modifications to make it look wicked-cool. It would need claws and wings and pointy ears for sure, and maybe some cool hooved feet. You'd have to sculpt all that jazz yourself though and I haven't the skill or the time. That would be pretty sweet.

When AoD first came out with those I was sorely tempted to buy one too.
The idea of having a massive figure guarding my room really appealed to me back then.
The larger dolls almost seem like elven creatures. Looking at pictures comparing larger dolls with people sometimes makes them look alive. Little emissaries from the realm of Fae.

Now, I have a 72cm Shakan (naked, nameless and unpainted still) and he is in my room. He doesn't feel like a guardian nor reminds me of an elven creature. He does though make me think of an articulated artist's manikin. It's harder to photograph because he's so heavy I actually break out in a sweat posing him.

When I try to imagine doing with with even larger dolls I almost can't do it. Where on earth would I put it? What are companies thinking?
