Thank-you so much for the links! For some reason, it didn't occur to me to check outside of ebay.

Sadly, there are many kids who do finish school and still suck at spelling. =__=

There is some learning disabled spelling problems, usually they're phonetic and perhaps missing or transposing a letter, and then there's just laziness. Unnecessary apostrophe S and not knowing the difference between your and you're drive me nuts. Aren't you supposed to learn that in elementary school?

So I drag my non-doll collecting friend into a Toy's R Us the other day because it was there and I wanted to see if I could find some 1/3 scale kitchen impliments (which I could not dammit). As we are cruising the pink aisles (and trying not to go into seizures from the color overload) she suddenly turns to me and says "What is the deal with all the enormous heads on these damn things?" yes, we'd reached the Liv/Moxy/Bratz stuff at that point. Unfortunately I had no good answer for her, but it did make me LOL so I thought I'd share :)

There was a boy with a significant to severe learning disability. I don't know the exact details. His mother tried to get help through the school. The elementary school principle refused and told her to just face the fact, her son would never learn to read. Looking for help out side the school system was only an option for them if it was free.

After years of dealing with my learning disability Mom joined the Literacy Volunteers of America. She was assigned this boy as he was starting the ninth grade. He couldn't read the words "I" or "a" and couldn't do any math. By the time he finished high school he was able to pass the functional writing and math tests. It was still hard for him but at least he could.

School system and that principle = Job FAILURE

If you have Target in your area, maybe try that? I was just there earlier and there was a 1/3rd microwave that beeps and makes whirring sounds. There was also a dishwasher, too, but I think that's more suited for 1/4th than 1/3rd. If I remembered correctly, the brand was Circo. Unfortunately, both are pastel pink.

Target has their own brand of American Girl knock-offs with some nice stuff, hit or miss if it fits exactly. I've taken my Dollzone mini there looking for stuff. The salon chair and bed with a drawer underneath looked promising. They have accessories like art supplies. They have, or had last I looked, a house and furnishings aimed at small children that might work for larger SDs. One guesses if you buy it, gently open the box, but don't like it you can take it right back. Check their $1 spot by the front door, I've seen some kitchen stuff.

Wal Mart occasionally goes all out with kids size food and stuff, I think Toys R Us carries play food and stuff more regularly. Unless it's art supplies I feel "Re Ment" is for Littles but my smother doesn't get it and has to point all that stuff out to me.
