LOL you are right. There was a guy I knew who really liked anime so in my mind I always think there is not to much of a leap between anime and BJDs that look anime-ish. He was holding a doll on his leg looking at it and asked if it was a boy or girl and I said a boy then I mentioned that they are anatomically correct and he freaked out!

He froze and looked straight ahead of him and said"Get this thing off of my knee." It was funny. Its not like he actually saw anything.

My husband and I talked about what creeped him out. I don't leave doll heads or body parts out and all my dolls are fully dressed including underwear. He was finally won totally over by Bitty Bitsus and asked for one of his own last Christmas. He knows which dolls are characters in my novel and which ones are my tiny army. He bought the doll house for Cordie for my birthday last year. He knows my favorites by name-especially Cordie; he has even made sure she is with me when we are going someplace new so that I can get a picture of her there. He even came to my panel at Doll-A-Kon and took pictures of me for my scrapbook.

BUT I also keep all of my dolls confined to my work room cabinet when I'm not playing with them. I would never display my dolls in our common space out of curtosy for him, just like I expect him to keep his hobbies in his own space and/or put away when not in use.

I have the feeling that if I had a dozen large, life like man dolls lounging around the living room and bedroom, he might be a tad more disturbed lol

So you're saying I shouldn't put Ivan on my hubby's side of the bed. :-p

Maybe they tease because they want a common hobby to do and display together? One guy I knew would have gladly lived in action figure central. My dad would have indulged model trains.

Oh part of what also helped with the creeping him out less, I bought him an action figure of his favorite thing. (Ok maybe it was just getting him a a miniature Weber grill which is really his favorite thing). (But tiny grill is pretty awesome, and sadly way too big for most of my dolls.)
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Well, my wife is creeped out when she comes back into the office and finds the BJD in a different pose than when she last saw her...

This is really sweet. You have a very good and loving husband, as I'm sure I don't have to tell you.
