I find that you can get as much out of it as you put in. If you make a thread about something you want to talk about people here are sure to respond. The beauty of this forum is that you are more likely to get a reply than you are in a busier forum because people are actually able to see your post on the front page.

IMO, that helps this place feel like a real community.

i'm used to ppl being on MORE on holidays... maybe i know too nerdy ppl XD i don't really celebrate any holiday or day at all... ^^; but i realise most ppl are celebrating 4th of july right now x3

Keep in mind that this forum is more of a haven away from the busy, overpopulated super-forums. The people here have passion, experience and enthusiasm for a myriad of jointed dolls. And there's rarely any trolling or disruptive posting. Its also less likely that you'll get banned at the whim of a mod!

and i'm here, aren't i! if i didn't see any benefits in being part of a smaller forum, i probably wouldn't be here... no, this looks like a nice place~! just wanted to see what people will say to this... mostly i wanted to know of DoA is the only big BJD forum, since i might like to take part in a bigger forum TOO... but DoA is invitation only :s

Weeeeell in terms of bigger w/open registration, there's Resinality. Which I really know nothing about, but the name itself implies that they're probably a bit restrictive towards what dolls are "on topic", like DoA is.
But kick around here for a bit, let people get to know you better and I'm sure someone here would be glad to shoot you a DoA invite. We're pretty nice here at the Sanctuary, so long as you don't troll and don't take things too seriously.
