And She Scores The Final Home Run!!!!

That Knickerbocker doll is a Mod Birds Daisy which I already have and which I can probably get a cool $35 for even naked. The other doll is a Susan Wakeen Eve or Cassie (I think Cassie actually.) which I collect avidly and which sell for $45-100 even naked most of the time. (I'm sitting here with an Eve beside me. We were crossing our fingers just hoping, waiting for him to call and tell us he'd won, lol.) The pants I think are Teen Trends doll pants or they look like them anyhow. Could be Tonner or Alexander but I've been looking for a pair like those. I have the matching jacket and have long wanted the white jeans. 6 pairs of shoes, at least 4 pairs of which look to be Tonner-Gene sized, and two that I think are Franklin Mint Diana type shoes which is going to make my FM vinyl girls very happy. They have to share shoes and/or out of the box time as it is because I don't have enough to go around those dolls all having odd sized feet.

The peach dress is from FM Jackie and it's been on my list for a while. I want it for my Diana doll. She's only got the blue velvet dress so far and we're long tired of it. I was going to make her something soon but this will fit and look great. I have a beading and flowers design I want to try with the top and a hat in mind to design. I think the matching shoes are in the pile. Looks like the stockings and purse are there too, necklace too. The two sweater tops are handmade. (Love the green one.) I don't know about the green pair of short pants. Don't look like they even belong to a 16" fashion type girl. Probably came off a Dora or something. I think the skirt on the Eve doll is too though I'm not sure. It's not an Eve outfit though. Might be Tonner? Not crazy about that. Print is too big for the size doll. I hope it's nicer in person. The coat, brown bag and the hat are I think Madame Alexander, looks very like one of the Alex coats I have in blue only it's brown, but I'm not sure.

$53 bucks plus $10 to ship but I'm not paying for it. It's a present actually from my Pop. He let me pick it out but he did the auction this morning and he's paying for it. He just called to let me know he'd won it and for how much. It was pretty much a steal I think. With 16" doll shoes going at $12-15 and up these days the 6 pairs of shoes alone were worth it. The Jackie outfit runs like $50-60 too so there is no way that lot wasn't worth it. It's like I got the dolls and the other stuff for free.

There's another FM outfit he has to pay for too he says. Something about a cute sweater set? The only thing that comes to mind is the yellow Sandy Grease outfit which I already have. I can't think of anything else they made like that, but I don't know exactly what it is and won't know till I get it. He says he won it for like $20 and it's a surprise. Whatever, they're all nice and another outfit means another pair of FM doll shoes for Diana and company so I am not complaining. I can always sell of whatever I don't want.

Nice haul, huh?

BTW if you haven't seen a Basic Wakeen 2001 Eve look her up. She's got the most gorgeous facial sculpt and paint. lovely long hair. That's the one on my desk just now. She's the redhead. The earlier ones had a bit too much eye paint for me but the later ones were something else. I was very sad when they discontinued her. She actually reminds me of Tiffany Taylor a bit. You know the 70's doll that could change her hair around? The big one? There's a Barbie sized one too Tuesday Taylor, but I always rather coveted the bigger version. Having a basic Eve is an awful like having a 16" version of her around.

Several hours later I'm pretty sure she's a Park Avenue Eve but with the Garden Party wig on. Her makeup is all wrong for the Garden Party doll. No obvious blue eyeshadow, darker lips, darker eyes. She matches the Park Avenue doll pretty well in terms of warpaint and both those dolls were wigged brunette dolls with very similar banged hair styles so it could be that the wigs just got mixed up. The wig on the Park doll was slightly longer but also had bangs. She's not in her original outfit. Too bad whichever because both were very nice outfits to have. It looks like whoever owned her liked to switch things around so I would not be too surprised if she is mixed up a bit wig-wise. I'm pleased. Either way I do not have a brown eyed Eve. I'm probably going to wig her into being a longer haired brunette but with some highlights maybe. Or maybe I'll make her a brighter red than my copper Eve. Her makeup is all browns though from what I can tell which is good. I'm not crazy about the blue eyeshadow look and Eve's I don't really like to repaint. A sculpt and paint like hers needs little augmentation, IMHO. She's darn near perfect as is.

Yes, I am feeling rather smug at the moment. Usually when I see a good 16" doll lot on there someone beats me to it and outbids any hope I might have of grabbing it. The people on Goodwill are a little nuts when it comes to the 16" dolls and their outfits. I see higher end of auction on there all the time. Final bids that are very high, much higher than on Ebay for the same things. Camera gear same story. Goodwill people seem to be a bunch of high bidders. This was an exceptionally good lot for $50. There's stuff to sell. There's stuff to keep. Way cool, particularly since Pop is the one paying for it. ;P

I think if the brown coat turns out to be a legit piece from a major maker I'll sell that, the hat and the bag. I'm not fond of brown and I have the Gene brown coat already. Or maybe I'll sell the Gene outfit and save that one. We'll have to see it in person to tell, but I don't need two brown coats so one will go. I'll probably sell that brocade skirt and make a gold halter top for it. Daisy is going but I'm keeping her clothes. The Jackie outfit is Diana's if it looks good. Probably will though I'm a little worried about peach looking great on her. I'm not sure if it's her color or not. I don't think I've ever seen Diana in a peach dress at all, but it's got classic styling and should suit her well I think if the color is right. If nothing else I may dress another 16" doll in it and use the shoes for another FM doll if they fit. They're cream colored not peach I think from the pics I've found online so they should be useful regardless.

There's a white pearl pair there too plus there's probably another pair in the mystery outfit. That's 3 pairs of FM shoes and should take care of the needs of most of my FM dolls that use those kind of shoes. I have literally one pearl pair now split between 3 dolls. This lot will finally give my Czarina her own pair, Diana a pair, and Elizabeth can wear them too I understand. Rose and Twiggy have a few pairs of their own shoes that don't fit anyone else so I am not worried about them. I think they might fit Scarlett or Marilyn too if I ever do manage to grab those two. Not sure, but in any case I'll finally have enough FM standard shoes to go around. I still would like to grab them a black pair that fits at some point but that's still a decent selection for now. I actually have plenty of Tonner type shoes but all those are in black and white and that's never a bad thing. I have plenty of black ones but I think I have one pair of white pumps that fit Gene, Tonner and Madame Alex fashion dolls. I could use a couple more. With the FM out of the business of selling dolls finally finding shoes to fit all my FM vinyl dolls is a good thing. Their outfits were pricey to buy new. I never did manage to afford much by way of extra outfits for them new or used.

Some of my FM dolls have one official gown that came with them but most have makeshift outfits. You can find some of the less popular Jackie and Diana ones pretty cheaply online but overall they tend to run $50-100 and up and I never like to spend more than $20 for a doll outfit. I don't care if the doll did originally cost $150. I didn't buy any of mine for that. I think the Czarina was the most expensive. I think the person that bought her for me paid like $80 for her. They were mostly bought for $50-75 used on Ebay though, not new. I got most of their outfits later even the few official FM ones used. I still want the Flying Dress for my Rose but it's too expensive and I'm not that ambitious when it comes to making one. That one is too much embroidery and sewing for me. My Rose has her Jump dress and the Dinner dress plus a Green walking suit that is off a porcelain of the same sze. It's not hers but it fits her very well and is Edwardian. I'd eventually like her Boarding suit, the Flying Dress and maybe the Tea gown but it's not a priority.

I want Jackie's black and white symphony dress but that's about it for the Jackie clothes. Most of her colored clothes are in bright satin pastels and I'm not a pastels fan. Other than that it's black and white outfits plus a red suit, that's it. Diana's purple and red dresses are also on my list but overall I'm not crazy about her FM outfits that I'd want to pay $50 for them. Twiggy has Knickerbocker outfit options and I like to sew 60's clothes so she'll never lack for anything to wear. The Czarina has always been the hard one. No official clothes there and everything I've ever put on her just doesn't look right. I'm thinking I am eventually going to have to sew her something correct for the period, probably in white lace, though why I am being so historically correct with her I don't know. She looks far more like a young Jackie Bisset playing Napoleon's Josephine than she does Czarina Alexandra. I've heard several people say that and I agree, she does. She's a truly lovely doll but she's nothing like the woman she's supposed to be portraying. I hate her wig besides. I get really tempted sometimes to just wig her in a different color and forget the Czarina part...

The Daisy and Willow dolls I'm not really all that into. I like their outfits a lot but the actual dolls I can take or leave. That guy who designed them. I don't really like any of his dolls if you get down to it. I don't like his CED or his new fashion dolls either. I've been actually contemplating selling just the dolls for a long while now. I have three of them all total now and I don't really want them. They'd probably fetch at least $100 so I may just get rid of them and keep their Mod clothes for Twiggy. People actually do like them a lot. I just don't happen to really. But the Eve is mine. That girl is a keeper usually. But I can probably make my Pop's $50 back...

This is interesting...I just looked up Alexandra to see what she's going for these days and found this. She's on a Tonner AR body. Very nice it looks too. I'd never sell her original but still it's nice to have the option. Hmm, I wonder if I could put Diana on a Tonner body of some kind? She lacks any articulation that doll.

Woot! Congratulations on the haul! Also, thank you for the descriptions/explanations. I don't really know much about this kind of doll but they're really interesting and I love that hanging around this board is slowly teaching me about them.

He does but he owed me, smile. When my relatives from out of state come every Summer it's a huge PITA for me. I have to clean a lot. My house, theirs. Be nice to people I barely know. Stop working for a few days to entertain them, cook a whole lot. Having company is WORK. You know how it goes. If they had to hire a maid to do all of that it would cost them $400 for the weekend. Letting me spend $100 on doll stuff is nothing to that. But it's fun for me. Almost all the FM doll outfits are very nice quality, high end stuff. New they used to charge $100 a pop for them and it shows. The attention to detail is staggering. Getting two of them for practically nothing? Awesome. The rest it's like a huge bonus. :)

Box came today and it was fun opening it up. Kind of helped me getting over the No Delilah disappointment a bit. The Eve doll is Boston Bound Eve. She's really cute actually. She's got the earlier Eve face which I usually don't like as much but in this instance I think looks good. I think it's the loss of the blue eyeshadow. The brown coat and other accessories are factory I think but I have no idea of who made them. No tags and I can't find that outfit anywhere. The peach FM outfit is intact but is slightly bigger in the waist than my other FM outfits. I'm going to try it on Diana and the Czarina maybe but I suspect that Jackie has a slightly bigger waist than most FM dolls and that it's not going to fit as well as I'd hoped.

The shoes are a mix of white and black pumps. A couple are Kingstate pairs, the others I think are Tonner maybe as they are a bit bigger. There is a beige and a white pair of FM shoes, but no peach ones to match the dress. The brown dress was an OOAK thing, definitely, and not very well made. I'm going to have to work it a bit. The top wasn't knitted. It was just a piece of lace sewn onto the bodice and it looked horrible so I removed it. Green sweater was more a lime color and wasn't that well knitted. There's a gap up top I'm going to have to cover with a flower. Someone missed a stitch or two, lol.

The white pants are wool and very, very nice. The capris are green and do fit the 16" dolls quite well. Both pants I think have to be Tonner. They're not MA or Gene or Knickerbocker stuff and I don't recognize them as Eve clothes either. But there's no tags in anything except for the FM dresses. The Daisy doll is in absolutely excellent shape. Still had her hair net on. I'm going to end up selling all 3 Knickerbockers I think including the new one. I'm just going to keep the Eve and the Tonner clothes, not the brown coat etc. Maybe not the FM outfits. I don't need a duplicate of the Sandy outfit and while the brown coat is nice it's a repeat too.
